No one has made a thread for this?!?!

The Cook Islands Party currently holds 15 seats, the Democratic Party holds 8 seats, and an independent holds 1 seat according to Wiki. The One Cook Islands Party is running again; last election, they got 2 seats, but they don't currently hold any.

The islands have a total of about 17,000 people and follow the UTC -10 time zone, so results probably won't come in until Friday in the US.

Of note:
There is an independent candidate promising to "Make Atiu Great Again."

The leader of the Democrats is Tina Browne, who could become the first female PM of the Cook Islands.

Here is the Cook Islands election page. I'm assuming this is where they will be posting the results.

Are you a Cook Islander then? What's seen as the big issues? Is there much excitement or are the parliament seen as hacks?

Also welcome.

Welcome!

Is there any ideological difference between the parties, or are they just based around powerful families and their client networks?

Looks like Atiu won't be great again. Norman George got just 6 votes.
