no.

he obviously wants to be president.  i think even he is wise enough to see what a fool's errand a 3rd presidential campaign would be.

he had his chance to be president.  it was 1992 and he passed it up.

the easy answer is yes if Hillary doesn't and no if she does.  the only way to challenge Hillary will be from the insurgent left.

Only if Hillary doesn't run, but I think she will, so no.

He'll probably run and make a fool of himself before dropping out in embarrassment.

He'll form an exploratory committee, raise some money, release a book with his big glossy face on the cover, and drop out sometime in late 2015.

Yes if Hillary doesn't.

If she does? Unlikely. Although he may do some campaigning, but I don't think he gets in the race after all.

I hope so. Biden is one of my favorite Democrats, and I'd prefer him to Hillary.

I think Biden would be a stronger candidate than Hillary, but I'm in the minority here.  He will be 73 years old, and that doesn't help.  The "dynasty" issue applies to Hillary, as well as to Jeb Bush; people have a degree of resistance to choosing nominees of their party from the same family in semi-succession.

One problem for Biden is that Hillary's posture is SO imposing right now as to cause a situation where her candidacy's subsequent floundering (if it occurs) will be a drag on the entire Democratic Party.  Hillary's tanking, IMO, weakens Biden because Hillary (and Bill) are, in many ways, the face of the Democratic Party (even with a Democrat in the White House).   I would prefer Biden, and I think he'll run, but I doubt he'll win.

Barring a major health problem, Clinton will obviously run. So no, Biden won't run (although he may tease a potential run for a long as possible just for the hell of it).

He's a guy who wants to be President, and polls suggest he'll be strong in the primary. It's tough for someone to decline under those circumstances.

However, he has to recognize that there aren't a lot of voters who prefer him to Hillary. So if she runs, he'll probably stay out, unless his campaign recognizes a serious vulnerability.

I'm hoping that Jill talks him out of it and he retires. He's earned it.

I really hope Biden doesn't run. If he won the Democratic nomination, there's a pretty large chance I'd vote for the Green Party candidate.

He ran in 2008 against Hillary and Obama and getting single digits in the polls.  It's not like he shies away from trying the impossible.

I think he wants to but I think a lot will depend on his health which is not up to him.

My favorite scenario for 2016 is Biden runs on a one-term pledge with Gillibrand (or another woman candidate) as the VP, grooming her as frontrunner for 2020.

Why do so many people think a Biden run would be dependent upon what Hillary does?

This for me, except I still think he won't run.

This, he will try and his campaign won't go well and he will back out because of age or something

Hillary will run and he won't. He could be nominated as Secretary of State though.
