This is my prediction for 2008.  I posted this in the 2008 forum thread "2008 predictions just for the hell of it."

What do you guys think the results of this race would be, but first lets assume the following.

*Iraq has calmed down a little bit, but not much.  U.S. troops are gradually withdrawing.
*Citizens in many of the middle eastern countries are showing signs of pushing for democracy.
*The economy is marching along at a decent rate.
*Employment is ok. Not great, but just ok.
*SS has been reformed, but no private accounts.  Lets just say they agreed to raise the cap.  (kick the can down the road and deal with it when we get there, again.)
*Last, lets say all other factors are pretty much the same in 2008 as they are right now.

Democrat (president/vice-president)

Republican (president/vice-president)

edit:  I messed up the poll.  The last option should read, "Other/Frist"

Here's what would happen:
Warner/Feingold  - 338
Frist/Pawlenty     - 200

good map except Warner might take WV as well, according to Al he is extremely popular in the parts of VA that are just like WV. Plus Frist is a joke.

West Virginia would be complicated since it's near both candidate's home states.

I agree on West Virginia, but I might also put Kentucky and Missouri, and maybe even arkansas into Warner's column. Colorado may also go to Frist, but I'd definitly give Warner the overall edge in the swing states.
