In addition to ex-State Sen. Dan Gelber, Val Demmings and ex-AG Bob Butterworth are being mentioned as running mates fro Crist.

I like the idea of Val Demmings going for Lt. Gov; could build up her profile for future elections.

I don't think Katy Perry's eligible, and besides, does he really want a carpetbagger as his running mate?

He's a carpetbagger himself, so I doubt he wouldn't choose another one.

Born, raised, and went to college in North Carolina. Now running for a House seat representing a county she never lived in.

Birth place: New York, NY

You're an expert on carpetbaggers, aren't you? There's certainly a discussion to be had about carpetbaggers when someone from Thonotosassa moves to Pinellas - a place she's never lived before - to run for a House seat. But there's no room for a discussion with Charlie.

I think its appropriate that this governors race is in Lean D mode now.

Too early, Scott will heavily outspend him!

Blanche Lincoln heavily outspent John Boozman and still lost by 21 points. Money isn't everything.

It may be too early, but every poll I've seen has him up 10-12 points on Scott. That's a very significant advantage for being early on. Lean D is actually being nice to Scott, only because he's the incumbent.

After a certain dollar amount, Scott's monetary advantage will only turn to a disadvantage after a certain dollar amount. Former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Former Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor can tell you that.

It's FLORIDA. The entire state is carpetbaggers.

Well in that case, Katy Perry would be great.

This can't be understated. Migrants outnumber native Floridians something like 2 to 1, especially outside North Florida. The only stigma you'll find on carpetbagging here is when it comes from especially blatant opportunism.

Ask her if she'll ride that flying pig to her imminent victory of Charlie Crist Wink

She was going hard on the attack against Scott and Crist, about she being the only pro-choice candidate, talked a lot about healthcare, education, the environment, and a huge amount about the economy, jobs, social security and medicare, etc., etc.

She clearly does not like either of them, but she is one of the sweetest people I have met, but she really needs to work on her public speaking skills, because at the beginning she was clearly struggling.

Crist, despite his disastrous run against Senator Marco Rubio in 2010, is still a popular figure in Florida politics and I believe he will win a Democratic Primary and general election in 2014.

I'm praying Crist will win, but he's going to explain himself to Floridians how he went from GOPer, then Independent and switching to Dem.

Scott is going to remind voters that in those TV ads if he hasn't already.

Indeed. Crist is a joke. I seriously think people overestimate his chances, but I guess anyone would have a decent chance against Lucifer Scott.

Daily Kos seems to think Crist is good on the environment, at least. That's something.

He's always been good on environment, as well as civil/voting rights and labor issues.
