Kemp is correct. Alcohol addiction and the subsequent come downs are horrible. As bad as all the sugar may be for you, you aren't going to really risk a convulsion coming off the Mr Pibb. You also don't find people knocking their old lady in the snot locker after too many Mountain Dews.
Some people have an addictive personality and replacing one vice with another can just open yourself up to many more problems.
