Gary Locke, former governor of WA.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&newwindow=1&q=gary+locke

Popular, is considered a conservative Democrat, and is Asian. Would being Asian help him or hurt him?

Will just boost his Asian-American vote total.

Actually he was not popular, that is why he did not run for reelection.

He won't run. But being an Asian would probably slightly help him.

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. But even if he was popular and ended up running, he probably wouldn't get far.

What are some of his positions? (More important than his ethnicity)

As an Asian American, I liked Locke, but he was a pretty unpopular Governor, and in all honesty I would prefer other Asian Democrats to enter the national stage.

Unfortunately for Asian Americans, we neither have the numbers nor the money to be a signifigant moving force in American politics.  yet... Smiley
