Sort of my view. Gouverneur Morris would be better said to be the one who actually wrote the Constitution, but Madison's role is central and I'd say mostly for the good.  He was also an FF in his other roles during the 18th century, especially in promoting civil liberties.  In the 19th century, I'd say much less so.
