Warning: Likely a joke poll (see below) !
38. If the election for U.S. Senator from Virginia were held today and the candidates were Mark Warner, the Democrat and Ed Gillespie, the Republican, for whom would you vote? [ROTATE] [N=553 registered voters]

Mark Warner 50%
Ed Gillespie 21%
Someone else [VOL] 3%
Uncertain 24%
Refused 2%

Notice that Roanoke had Romney winning VA by 5 in their final poll and McAuliffe winning by 15.

Yeah, junk. Even not taking into account the uncertainties Warner won't do that well.

It seems you need to subtract about 10 points from whoever leads in a Roanoke poll to get the actual lead.

So, Warner+20 ?

A Republican poll had Warner up 18 in November. So probably somewhere above 18 and less than 29.

Of course, in any other race these kind of giant leads would be considered a solid/safe race. But not so in Virginia, where the national media is creaming themselves over their beloved GOP hack Gillespie.

Not out yet, but Politico is saying that Christopher Newport University has Warner over Gillespie by 20 points (50/30). His approvals are 63/26, while Gillespie's are 10/9.
