Definitely a FF, but not a huge one. He did what was necessary to preserve the Union and stop slavery, but I still don't like the whole suspension of Habeus Corpus thing.

One of the biggest FFs ever, and the greatest president, without a doubt.  Anyone who says otherwise is automatically an HP.

Unquestionably the greatest president in American history.  I guess I won't judge you if you want to rank GW or FDR higher, but leaving him out of your top three requires a... special commitment to either ignorance, stupidity, or any of a number of thoroughly repugnant ideologies.

FF. There were things that were certainly questionable that he did during the civil war, but he was a politician after all.

If he's a libertarian or not is irrelevant to the fact that a Lincoln presidency was great for the nation as a whole for human rights.

No President will ever be perfect. Even if we agree with them on the vast majority of what they do, there will be things we won't like. On the balance of it though, Lincoln was one of the greatest Presidents we've ever had. Not only that, but he knew very well how to play the game of politics. He surrounded himself with the best talent such as Seward, Stanton, Chase and Welles. Lincoln did a masterful job and our nation is better off for having him.

Yes, I'm a Texan, but the Civil War ended almost 150 years ago. I have no need to despise him. Unlike some of my kind, I'm an American before I'm a Texan. (Besides, if not for the Civil War, there'd be no Six Flags!)

There are things that he did that (today) I would most definitely disagree with. But for time it was in, I give him all respect and credit for what he did. I am one for states rights, but I have always held the position that civil rights should be dealt with at the federal level and with the constitution (13-15th amendments). Splitting up the nation and declaring war was not the smartest move, but the immense freedom that came out of the result after it was all done is what makes him, in my opinion, the best president. And, I am not for confederacy, which is why I'm pro-union. I'm not your stereotypical/average libertarian.
