Anti-Semitism is on the rise in France as well as other European countries so this doesn't surprise me at all.

I'm not saying there is not anti-semitism going on in France or Europe, I just don't think, in the case of France, it is any worse than what it was 10, 20, 30 or 40 years ago. There is a permanent nearly inexhaustible draught of anti-semitism in France.

It is difficult to scientifically determine whether anti-Semitism is on the rise or not. It is possible to look at the number of reported incidents directed at Jews but that's only one side of the coin. Clearly, a very important factor in determining whether there are growing anti-Semitic Sentiments in a particular area is to ask Jews what they experience in their everyday lives. That's obviously a somewhat subjective approach but essential to get a view of the overall picture.
