Yes, sort of. Everyone should have the opportunity for a job. There should be a ministry of employment who should be in charge of helping people find employment.

No. A guarantee of a job is one of those ideas that might sound nice in utopia but fails to take into account real world problems such as resource scarcity and motivation to work. I know if I didn't have to worry (at least in theory, not that I'm legitimately worried) about the place chucking me out, I wouldn't work as hard. If you're guaranteed a job anyway, what's the point in giving effort?

Well at least anecdotally, I can vouch for the idea that unlike his work, mine never seems to achieve progress without me actually working. I suppose I've simply grown used to the idea that people want to eat and buy products, and that they aren't going to give you a bunch of money for their personal amusement; they tend to expect you to actually produce something. Imagine that.
