Yes (I/O) - the federal government should guarantee everyone a job or should provide everyone with a universal basic income (ideally, the federal government should do both)

No of course not. That doesn't mean we should let them starve, but some people just aren't capable of working.

Obviously I don't mean that the disabled or those otherwise unable to work should be forced to work here. What I am referring to is a policy that would provide all physically capable adults with a job. I apologize for not making that clearer in the question, I thought it was just sort of a given. For people unable to work, I would certainly be in favor of a universal basic income policy (which I favor for everyone, honestly, in addition to a jobs guarantee)

No.  One can reasonably argue that the government should engage in more public works that create additional jobs, but having government do things just to create jobs?  Nah.

Yes, sort of. Everyone should have the opportunity for a job. There should be a ministry of employment who should be in charge of helping people find employment.

I would support a basic minimum income. Guaranteeing a job would seem unnecessary if that was in place.

No although I support ensuing a minimum standard of living for everybody through a combination of universal health insurance, social welfare programs, EITC, and possibly a minimum income.

A strong Universal Healthcare and Negative Income Tax are the best mechanisms for promoting a new form to promote a transition for a new capitalistic society. Job should be an option; people can decide if they want to buy something or not, why can't they choose if they want to work or not? Most people will want to work for a thousand of reasons but they should have the right for choosing not do so.

Don't really like Workfare Programs and Full Employment Policies.maybe that is the matter that I'm more radical...

No, but everyone should be guaranteed a decent standard of living regardless of whether they have a job or not.

I have a hard time seeing how this would actually work. Unless the government is going to provide jobs or otherwise force private sector hiring, it seems like an empty guarantee. I do think the government should create laws that work towards full employment and guarantee that no one lives in poverty. I would support a right of the people to escape poverty.

This too.  I think "guarantee" is a strong word, but it should be very easy in a good economy to find one (and there should be a ministry/department for helping people find it).

Basically. Nobody should be in danger of losing their health insurance or worse because of unemployment.

First world societies are more than rich enough to allow all members of society a humane standard of living.
