Should every person be guaranteed a job?

I have a hard time seeing how this would actually work. Unless the government is going to provide jobs or otherwise force private sector hiring, it seems like an empty guarantee. I do think the government should create laws that work towards full employment and guarantee that no one lives in poverty. I would support a right of the people to escape poverty.
