The theme of the first Moral Monday hosted in Georgia today was one of Medicaid expansion. The protest (from 4-6; you can catch the livestream here) drew an estimated 500 people on a chilly, rainy day. In contrast, North Carolina's first Moral Monday drew approximately 250 people. I wanted to be there but alas, I had to work.

Cool these protests need to continue, Although I doubt they will be very successful. Also I bet a lot of people who would benefit from the Medicaid expansion had to work and can't get a day off.

We'll be having a Truthful Tuesday tomorrow here in South Carolina.  The organizers are open to making this weekly, but so far they've only committed to a one time thing.  They chose Tuesday since that is when the General Assembly opens for its 2014 session.

Perhaps Texas should try one of these when the Lege returns at the beginning of next year. My advice to them would be to bring as many guns as possible (not to use). Republicans aren't allowed to criticize people as long as they're carrying a gun, especially in public.
