Results:
BENDER, PHILIP   ONTARIO LIBERTARIAN PARTY   135   0.5
COOK, BILL   INDEPENDENT                                163   0.6
DE JONG, FRANK   GREEN PARTY OF ONTARIO   2767   10.0
DUNCANSON, BOB   ONTARIO LIBERAL PARTY   4625   16.7
MCDOUGALL, LYNDA NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF ONTARIO 3881   14.0
MICELLI, PAUL   FAMILY COALITION PARTY OF ONTARIO 479   1.7
TORY, JOHN ROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF ONTARIO 15610   56.3
TURMEL, JOHN C   INDEPENDENT                              85   0.3

No surprise here. After former PC leader Ernie Eves vacates this seat, the new leader- John Tory is elected in a land slide. The Liberals are a distant 2nd. The Green candidate is also the leader of the Greens. And, John C Turmel loses his 59th election, extending his guiness world record.

I laugh every single time I see that a guy named Tory is the leader of the Tories.  He must have been made for that position. Smiley

Grin

Although he actually ran (unsuccessfully) for Mayor of Toronto* before running for Ontario Tory leader.

*Small pit village in County Durham. Apparently also a big city somewhere in Canada. Ontario IIRC.

Sure he did. He was the first Tory they'd seen in the village since the Miners Strike in '84.

He was very lucky that the bus to Bishop Auckland turned when it did or things could have got nasty Grin
