Good luck to the jury. For real.

And I'm going to preemptively denounce anybody who posts something along the lines of "what did you expect, it's Florida" if this guy walks free; this is not just a regional issue it's an issue of white privilege still prevalent across the country.

He's probably being found guilty. Don't see how they could acquit him of all the lesser charges and deadlock on the murder one.

How do we know the murder charge is the one they are deadlocking on?

According to CNN, the first degree murder charge is the one they're deadlocked on.

The only good thing about ice caps melting would be putting this sorry excuse for a state under water.
So you are pissed that he is guilty??

As far as I can see (still waiting on a full article as the ruling literally came out ten minutes ago), he's only been found guilty on the four lesser charges of attempted murder towards the others in the car and the actual murder charge has been declared a mistrial so let's not give Florida credit here...

So as of now you can still kill a black teen in FL if you are afraid of them.  If he didn't keep shooting at the other teens as they drove away he would have got away with it.

Here's AP's slightly expanded brief:

Anyone know what you get for three counts of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied car down there?

Either way, it's a cop-out. He's guilty of attempting to murder everyone in the car except he's not guilty of killing the one kid he actually did? Give me a break...

Justice would've been better served by a murder conviction, but it was served well enough by this verdict. Smiley

In Florida, you have to serve 80% of your sentence. So he is going to be spending his life in prison, regardless of the murder charge.

Keep in mind, it's not over. He will most likely be convicted in the next trial.
