Since Del Tachi abandoned this, I decided to pick it up and continue the series.

Flagstaff
"Service at a Higher Elevation"

Population (city): 65,870
Population (metro): 134,421

Flagstaff lies near the southwestern edge of the Colorado Plateau.  This city has a strong tourism sector, due to its proximity to Grand Canyon National Park, Oak Creek Canyon, the Arizona Superbowl, Meteor Crator, and historic Route 66.  It is also a center for medical device manufacturing.

Mesa

Population (city): 452,084
Population (metro): 4,329,534

The largest city of the three, Mesa has more residents than more recognizable cities such as Atlanta, Miami, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tulsa, Wichita, and Cleveland.  It is home to numerous higher education facilities, and is appropriately located toward the center of the state.

Tucson
"The Old Pueblo"

Population (city:) 524,295
Population (metro): 992,394

Tuscon is the second-largest populated city in the state of Arizona.  Home to the University of Arizona, the city is southeast of Phoenix and 60 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Tucson! Flagstaff is good, but too small. Mesa is suburbia so it wouldn't make much sense.

Voted for Flagstaff because it gives the state its reputation and and Mesa because of its population and location.

Write in for Nogales, MX because it would mean the state legislators would have to cross the border to go to work.

Flag is too small and distant from most of the state population, Mesa is the ninth level of hell.

Tucson is 2 hours car ride from most of the Arizona population and a very nice city.  It's has a beautiful landscape, a nice college town liberal vibe and a long history going back to New Spain.  Tucson is the clear answer.
