Hindsight is 20/20, but I truly believe that Palin was a worthwhile gamble given all the upsides that appeared with her on paper and that came when she gave her first few fiery speeches.

Obviously more vetting would have been helpful, but they only dreamed her up at the last minute and were working under constraints. Good for McCain for taking a huge game-changing risk.
