Healthcare

ObamaCare: Support it however i think it goes to little and we should push for a much more reasonable Single Payer with some competition or Choice System. Or a multi payer system within a universal healthcare program. However i have a feeling that America will end up having a expanded Obamacare with more broad coverage. Standard center left  (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 7)

Drug patents: Should take around 10 years but beside that, dont have much to say. Hopefully neither left or right.  (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 2)

Political

Gerrymandering: We should end this sh**t. Nonpartisan? (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 6)

Electoral College: I support it however also support a clause in which when no one reaches 270, the one with the most Electoral Votes wins instead of it going to the House and Senate. Also support proportional representation of electoral votes. For example: Candidate A wins Montana 55%-44%. He receives 2 of its electoral votes while the other candidate wins the 1. Moderate  (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 5)

Campaign Finance Reform: There should be no large donations from large donors of at least $5,000. Regulate any loop holes to this. Support a progressive grassroots small donation or self financing style way of financing Campaigns. Progressive. (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 9).

Freedom of Speech: Support it always except in cases of endangerment and those listed in the first amendment. Neither Left or Right. True American Position.

Term Limits: There should be Term Limits for the House and Senate. Liberal

Iran: Supports the Iran Deal and we should end some sanctions on Iran. We should continue to watch there Nuclear Program and should act more friendly to them. Moderate (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 5) .

Climate Change: Its real and no matter if its man made or not, we should take drastic measures to fix it. Progressive (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 5).

EPA: Strongly Support and we should continue to protect the environment and produce clean air and water and protection of national parks and non existing national parks. Environmentalist/Hopefully neither left or right. (On a scale of 1 to 10 on importance: 7)

I must say, I wasn't expecting someone with a blue Alabama avatar to be this reasonable.

Interesting. What about healthcare, income taxes, a federal sales tax, NASA, and welfare? Those are the main issues I see you left out.

I'm going to add to mine another issue that I've been having a change of heart on.  Gambling.  I don't want to ban it altogether, but regulate the sht out of it.  18+ only, inspect the casinos, discourage online video poker (you can't really ban it and I don't like the government regulating the internet unless absolutely necessary), no state lotteries.

I know, I know, "but it's my money i do what i want with it!!!", nanny states suck, etc.  And if you're vacationing with your SO in Vegas it's a fun thing to do for maybe an hour or two.  But that's it.  Routine gambling is quite probably the worst way to try to make money, yet arguably the most enticing.  How can one reasonably look at a poor Joe spending half his paycheck on video slot machines (LOL) as anything other than the victim of a scam?

I don't care if you smoke.  I don't care if you drink.  But addiction to anything is harmful and should be called for what it is.  (And no, I am not trying to stigmatize addicts.  Addiction is very common in both sides of my family.)

And yes, I changed my mind on this from watching the new Adam Ruins Everything episode.

Ideology: Populist Left-libertarian

Abortion: Up to 1st trimester only

Climate Change: Is real.

Same-Sex Marriage: Support. The government shouldn't be involved in marriage.

Drugs: I support legalization of recreational marijuana, magic mushrooms; decriminalize all others (except for krokodil and fentanyl/other highly

Death Penalty: Oppose except for those convicted of genocide, war crimes, and mass murder

Euthanasia: I don't agree with it and think it should be legal only for completely aware people with absolutely no chance of survival.

Gun Control: I support the 2nd amendment and some background checks. No bans.

Affirmative Action: Oppose

Political correctness: Don't agree with it. It's your right to free speech, so you can be as politically correct or incorrect as you want.

Immigration: Pathway to citizenship for DREAMers and long-term illegals.

Muslim Ban: It's not the worst thing in the world but I wouldn't implement it if I was POTUS.

Minimum Wage: Increase $12 minimum, higher in some states

Universal Basic Income: Decently good idea, but I'd prefer other options first

Energy: Support hydroelectric, geothermal as priorities, wind somewhat and nuclear/fossil fuels/coal as a last resort.

War/Foreign: Non interventionist

Healthcare: Support a universal plan

Trade: Support fair trading policies and prevention of outsourcing.

Ideology: Very Conservative

Abortion: Believe it should only be allowed in cases of rape, incest, and risk to the mother's life. Life begins at conception!

Climate change: Is real, but I don't like much of the alarmist rhetoric surrounding the issue. Climate models are notorious for over-estimating the actual increases in global temperatures. The transition to green energy should be market-led.

Same-Sex Marriage
: Don't support. The government has no right to redefine such a fundamental societal institution for the sake of "inclusivity". I however, understand that the nation-wide legalization of SSM will almost certainly never be reversed.

Religious Liberty: Businesses should be able to deny service to people asking them to engage in behavior that runs contrary to the owner's religious beliefs. You can't force a private establishment to take your money. Capitalism requires a VOLUNTARY exchange on both sides.

Drugs: I support medical marijuana, but not recreational, and don't believe in decriminalizing or legalizing hard drugs.

Death Penalty: Should be an option for the most serious crimes. Some people have simply forfeited their right to life with their incredibly heinous actions.

Euthanasia: Generally opposed, doctors are supposed to save people. However, in cases where there is absolutely no chance of survival, that option should be given to the patients and their families.

Gun Control: Very supportive of the 2nd amendment. No bans on assault weapons, certain magazine capacities, or silencers. Support basic background checks to ensure mental stability of the buyer.

Affirmative Action: A racist policy that should not be allowed. Setting lower standards for minorities does not help them!

Political Correctness: People should be allowed to say what they want, when they want, as long as it does not DIRECTLY cause harm to others (none of that, "You attacked my identity" nonsense)

Immigration: Very supportive of legal immigration. People should be able to come here, assimilate, and build a life for themselves, but it has to be done legally. No amnesty for illegal immigrants, and the wall should be built.

Trade: Very libertarian in this area. Free trade makes nations involved better off. Cheaper goods lead to increases in purchasing power for everyone, especially for the poorest in society. No tariffs, quotas, or other impediments to trade.

Minimum wage: Government should not interfere into the private agreements between the buyers and sellers of labor (businesses and workers) as to what wages should be. Free markets naturally increase wages as productivity increases and companies compete for workers. Minimum wages force lower skilled workers out of the workforce by making them less valuable to companies.

Universal basic income: Strongly opposed. We don't need another entitlement.

Energy: No subsidies for any energy companies, whatsoever (be they oil or green energy).I favor an "All of the above" approach to energy. The sources that provide the best, cheapest, and most efficient energy to consumers will come out on top.

Foreign Policy: I believe in peace through strength, but not nation-building. We should defend our interests wherever they're threatened but not look for ways to start new wars.

Israel: We have a moral obligation to ally with and defend the only true bastion for freedom and equality in the Middle East.

Healthcare: I support a free market approach to healthcare. Increased competition will lower prices and increase access to care for everyone in society. Single payer drastically increases demand for healthcare while doing nothing to increase its supply, leading to shortages and inefficiencies.

Muslim Ban: "I'm Donald Trump, and I don't approve this Constitution message.

Presidents have the exectutive power to ban immigration from any country.

Reagan did it. Bush did it. Clinton did it. Dubya did it. Obama did it.

All members of the Supreme Court voted for it, but suddenly it's unconstitutional because you say so?

Ideology
Social: Civil libertarian
Economic: Center left
Foreign Policy: Non-interventionist
Political Registration: Democratic in GA

Social Policy
Abortion: Unilaterally pro-choice. A woman has the right to do what she desires with her own body. I oppose the Hyde Amendment, mandatory waiting periods, and "crisis pregnancy centers," which we should call what they are: fake abortion clinics. More real abortion clinics must be opened and sex education must be proliferated in order to protect the welfare of women.

Same-Sex Marriage: Strongly support. I believe that two consenting adults should have the right to marry no matter who they are, and even if I didn't it's settled law.

Conversion Therapy: Strongly opposed. The practice is pseudoscientific and dangerous and should be unilaterally banned from the United States.

Transgender Issues: Support the transgender community. "Religious freedom" laws are trash- there is no reason why transgender people should be unable to use the bathrooms of their choosing. Federal hate crime legislation should be expanded to include gender identity. Transgender people should obviously be allowed to serve in the military.

Church and State: Should be completely separate, as the Constitution says. No new religious references should be added within governmental institutions. Tax exemptions for churches should be abolished.

Stem cell research: Strongly support. Stem cell research saves lives, and is the future of medicine.

GMOs: Strongly support. GMOs are heavily beneficial, and are the only way we can ensure crop survival into the far future. Labels should not be a requirement.

Drugs: For the most part, should be relegated to the states. Marijuana should be legalized for medical use. More focus should be placed on rehabilitation rather than punishment in prisons, and fewer non-violent drug offenders should be incarcerated.

Death Penalty: Oppose. Life in prison without parole is a worse punishment.

Gun Control: Oppose bans on assault weapons and gun registries.  Neutral on magazine/clip limits.  Support concealed carry and oppose constitutional carry.  Support mandatory gun safety features, extensive background checks, and closing the gun show loophole. People on the no-fly list should not be banned from purchasing guns until the no-fly list is refined and fixed. Many minor individual laws should be relegated to states and smaller locales.

Affirmative Action: Oppose. Racial affirmative action is racism. Affirmative action of any other kind is still discrimination.

Prostitution: Should not be banned. Use of contraceptives should be required.

Euthanasia: Neutral. With no other option but eventual death, a patient of sound mind should have the right to end their life, yet in other circumstances or with other options available I am much more hesitant to say that I support the practice.

Immigration: Create a pathway to citizenship for non-violent undocumented immigrants and provide temporary amnesty for working undocumented immigrants. Violent undocumented immigrants should be deported and not accepted back into the country. I oppose the border wall- it would be needlessly costly and a pointless, ineffective endeavor. Immigrants should not be required to assimilate into our culture or learn English, and cultural diversity should be promoted. We should increase the amount of work visas for undocumented immigrants and the permanent immigration process should be expedited exponentially whenever possible.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Support BLM. The police need to be held accountable for their actions just as any other person would be. I support body cameras unless they would be too much of a strain on a budget, in which case they should be implemented at a later time.

Free Speech/Political Correctness: I consider myself a free speech absolutist; the government should not censor speech of any sort. Our modern concept of political correctness is an un-liberal, regressive idea. At the same time, private institutions have the right to restrict events and speakers regarding political ideologies or other topics. Plus, if you say something stupid or hateful, I reserve every right to call you out on it.

School Prayer: Strongly oppose mandatory school prayer. Voluntary prayer is normal and healthy in a religious environment, and should be encouraged; students should be able to express whatever religious opinions they may have, but should not be required to do so.

Muslim Ban: Strongly oppose. Religious litmus tests are fundamentally wrong and violate our commitment to upholding freedom of religion. Immigrants from Islamic countries should be treated just like any other immigrants.

PATRIOT ACT/NSA Spying: Strongly oppose. The PATRIOT Act is a violation of the 4th Amendment and should be repealed. Whistleblower protections should be expanded and warrantless wiretapping should be banned.

Net Neutrality: Strongly support. An absence of net neutrality promotes rampant corporatism and restricts the abilities of small businesses and individuals to raise awareness and do business. A law should be passed unilaterally requiring net neutrality in the United States.

Economic Issues
Minimum Wage: Establish a national minimum wage of $10, set to rise with inflation. Minimum wages should be higher–$15 is not unreasonable–in locales and states that can better support the required extra cost.

Welfare: Support. The welfare state should be expanded in a second War on Poverty. Sick, maternity, and paternity leave should be ensured by the state. Adequate living conditions and food should be the goal for all Americans.

Banking: Break up the big banks and reinstate Glass-Steagall.

Social Security: Should be kept as is for the time being. The Social Security crisis is a myth at the moment.

Healthcare: I support something along the lines of the Wyden-Bennett Act of 2009, with specifics of some provisions changed to accommodate for climatic shifts since the bill was introduced. I'm somewhat skeptical about universal single-payer due to exorbitant costs and the resulting elimination of an entire business sector. Drug prices should be lowered at all costs; the current state of the pharmaceutical industry is unacceptable and a crisis for many Americans. Drug imports from Canada should be allowed, along with imports other regulated countries.

Globalization/Trade: Support globalization and free trade, but only with stringent environmental provisions.  Free trade is a core facet of our global economy and should be encouraged. I strongly support the concept of fair trade, and it should be a long-term goal of trade as a whole. I am against tariffs.

Deficit/Debt: Efficiency should be maximized among all government agencies in order to reduce debt. Unnecessary offices should be eliminated and high-ranking government officials' salaries should be reduced. The military budget should be massively reduced, and transparency should be encouraged. The NSA should be abolished and merged with our other intelligence agencies. Income taxes should be raised on the highest of high income brackets.

Campaign Finance Reform: Transparency should be required among all campaigns. However, I am somewhat neutral on Citizens United- although it is detrimental to the quality of our campaign system, I do consider myself to be a free speech absolutist, and free speech is free speech. People should have the right to contribute to political campaigns. That being said, corporations are not people, and should not be treated as such.

Unions: Strongly support voluntary union membership. Right-to-work laws should be abolished and power should return to the workers.

Energy/The Environment: Strongly support green energy. The government should invest heavily into alternative fuels, implement a national cap-and-trade policy, and incentivize companies with tax breaks. Disposable products containing less than 50% biodegradable material should be banned and replaced. The Dakota Access Pipeline and other major oil pipelines should be halted, and fracking/offshore drilling should be heavily reduced in usage. The end goal should be 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. Anthropogenic climate change is real and the number one threat to human civilization, and should be restrained at all costs. Coal is not coming back, and coal jobs should be phased out in favor of jobs in renewable energy fields. More national monuments, forests, etc. should be created, and many existing national monuments should be transferred to full national parks. The budgets of the EPA, Department of Energy, and Department of the Interior should be drastically increased. Nuclear energy should also be strongly encouraged, as long as reactors meet stringent security guidelines.

Job Creation: Public projects and infrastructure development a la the New Deal are the key here. Our infrastructure is crumbling and massive investment needs to be put into repairing it. As the green energy sector increases, so will jobs in green energy fields.

Education: Abolish Common Core and allow more individuality in curriculums. An ideal, innovative education system should favor true mastery and community building rather than test scores. I support tuition-free public university, heavy reduction of student loans, and universal pre-K. Textbook prices in public universities should be regulated to reduce student loans further. Creationism should be banned in classrooms. School vouchers for religious schools should not be allowed, although limited school choice should be implemented.

Taxes: I support increasing tax rates in the highest brackets and lowering them for the middle and lower class. Sales taxes should be slashed or abolished. Loopholes should be closed as much as possible, and the tax code should be streamlined for ease of understanding. Tax deductions for oil companies should be abolished completely and replaced with tax breaks for alternative energies. Overall, the tax code should be made into a more progressive, streamlined system.

Foreign
NATO: Strongly support. NATO is an important council consisting of many of our most powerful allies, and serves to unify us on a global level.

ISIS: Oppose, of course! Humanitarian and financial aid to civilians and to our allies should be the United States' priority when it comes to countering ISIS. Drone strikes cause too much collateral damage and should be scaled back to reduce innocent loss of life in the region. We should not deploy ground troops to fight ISIS or give them the satisfaction of an official declaration of war. Still, radical Islamic terrorist organizations, and none more so than ISIS, should be wiped from the face of the earth.

China: China's government is horrible, rife with human rights violations and environmental failures. Nonetheless, we should keep our relations as friendly as possible and commit to global trade deals with China so they cannot overtake our position in the global economy.

Cuba: Normalize relations as much as possible. Guantánamo Bay should be closed.

Iran: Support the Iran Deal. There should be no regime-change war, but the international community should condemn their rampant human rights violations.

Israel: Neutral. I personally support Israel, being Jewish (although Benjamin Netanyahu is corrupt and dangerous), but I believe that the United States should encourage peace in the region and ultimately work towards a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

Syria/Refugees: Admit dozens of thousands of refugees for as long as the crisis continues, to alleviate pressure on Europe and to lift a lamp beside our proverbial golden door for the persecuted people of Syria. A vetting process should be in place, but asylum is a fundamental human right and should not be denied.

Electoral Reform
Electoral College Reform: Strongly support.  Abolish the electoral college and elect the President via direct popular vote.

Gerrymandering: Must be ended. A nonpartisan independent commission should draw all congressional districts based solely on equivalency of population, with no exceptions.

Term limits: Oppose. Elections are the only term limits we need.

Voter ID: Oppose. Voter ID is, in many cases, another excuse for voter suppression.

Primaries: Abolish caucuses and make all primaries open.

Statehood: Allow for referendums in all federal territories that request them, and increase the maximum threshold of the U.S. House of Representatives to ensure representation. Puerto Rico should become a state.

Voting age: Keep the same. People who will be 18 by Election Day should be allowed to vote in primary elections.

Corruption/Lobbying: Institute a five-year ban on politicians becoming lobbyists after they leave office. Foreign lobbyists should be prohibited from fundraising in U.S. elections. Transparency should be promoted in all possible ways, and punishments for political corruption should be stricter. Campaign contributions and tax returns should be available to the public for all candidates.

I find it strange to end such detailed policy with such vague words. "Reform," "More progressive... system," and "streamlined system" are buzzwords - they could mean almost anything, and so mean nothing.

I was just trying to form a more general statement to encapsulate what I had put forward previously. I would agree that it's quite vague, and not the best worded statement, but it wasn't intended to suggest anything that I hadn't already said in more specific terms.

Social Policy
Abortion: Allow on demand at any stage of pregnancy, with no questions asked, no frivolous restrictions placed upon it by state legislatures and completely free of charge.
Drugs: Legalize 'em.
Censorship: No thank you.
Gay Marriage: I'm partial to the 'end marriage and give everybody a civil union' school of thought, but I think the time when that might have been a possibility has largely passed, so I'm obviously in favor of marriage equality and am favorable toward the idea of further re-defining marriage and allowing more people to get in on the action (i.e. legalization of group marriage) in years to come.
Death penalty: No thank you.
Prostitution: Legalize it.
Church and State: Ban religious schools, restrict religion in the public sphere, and tax churches proportional to their income.
Stem cell research: Support (not living in 2003)
PATRIOT Act: Repeal it.
Gun control: Completely opposed, legalize all guns and require gun training courses in schools. Ideally replace the standing army with citizens' militia, same goes for the police force (assuming we're also abolishing most of the criminal code in favor of a more restitution-oriented kind of criminal code, of course) and nationalize the gun industry. Very strongly supportive of "gun culture" and individual self defense.
Assisted suicide: Legalize it.
Gambling: Collectivize the gambling industry and make it a socially productive activity.

Electoral Reform
Term Limits: I oppose term limits in that they're anti-democratic. A better solution is to implement recall provisions for all elected officials, from members of Congress to the President.
Statehood: For whom? Let the territories decide their own fate, err on the side of independence. Ideally redraw all state boundaries along cultural/geographic/economic lines.
Voting Age: 16.
Campaign Finance Reform: Ban all corporate donations, end corporate personhood, limit campaigning to two weeks only, completely cover all campaign expenses out of the public treasury.
Gerrymandering: Adopt proportional representation for the House of Representatives on the D'hondt method, abolish the Senate.
Voter ID: End voter registration, let anyone who can make it to the polls vote.

Economic Issues
Welfare: Universal basic income + National Healthcare + Universal housing program + $21 an hour minimum wage + Right to a Job + National Education
Unions: Should essentially run the economy, very very very supportive, abolish all restrictions on them (Taft-Hartley, Landrum-Griffin, Hatch Act, ect), encourage their growth, ban scabs, require union shops and hiring halls, etc. Collectivize industry and allow unions to manage it wherever industry is collectivized.
Privatization: Make a U-Turn and start collectivizing large industries, with vital sectors divided between state owners and worker owners. Eventually stamp out private enterprise altogether and transform the economy into a worker-owned and managed democratic enterprise. (i.e. socialism)
Environment: something something free mass transit something something universal auto insurance something something national parks
Minimum Wage: $21/hour
Taxation: Land Value Tax pls
Healthcare: NHS style, with the state owning the hospitals and allowing Nurses and Doctors' unions to manage them; the state should also own all drug companies and produce useful drugs for public consumption
Trade: End "free trade," in favor of an industrial policy focused on employing Americans and creating products that are long lasting and cheap. Collectivize factories left here by ungrateful corporations and let workers own and manage them.
Embargo: End it, recognize the Castro government and make amends to build a better relationship in Latin America.
Pork: Ban
Subsidies: Nationalize/collectivize any institution receiving federal dollars
Military: End standing army in favor of citizen militias, end all overseas activity, bring troops home etc

Foreign Policy
War: Only if the US is attacked
Israel-Palestine: Recognize Palestine, ignore Israel
Draft: No, but favorable to the idea of universal national service in non-military settings, provided said service pays union wages to those employed by it (and because that's not likely, the answer is emphatically 'no')
UN: Support, make more democratic and weaken the influence of the Security Council
Nukes: Seek international treaty banning or placing them under UN control
Foreign Aid: Cancel all debt owed to the US and leave them alone
What?  BAN RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS?  You are quite the authoritarian.

I am a Libertarian Conservative
Social Issues(very libertarian): legalize drugs, prostitution, gambling, gay adoption.  The federal government shouldn't define marriage as it is not a federal issue.  I also am opposed any censorship, safe spaces, trigger warnings, hate crime laws, and anti-discrimination laws applying to private businesses and private landlords.  Death penalty needs to be reformed and should only be used when there is no doubt of guilt and truly indisputable evidence proving the crime was committed  (basically an official confession or DNA evidence, ect.)  I also oppose gun control.  Also, I oppose NSA spying and strongly believe in the rights of the accused including habeas corpus and freedom from indefinite detention and freedom from unjustly long prison terms.  The only social issue where I am right wing is abortion.  I view and unborn child as a human being that deserves the same rights the government guaranties the born, the right not to be murdered.  To be honest, if you see abortion as an equivalent to murder it isn't socially authoritarian to believe people should be protected from murder.

Economic Issues(conservative): I do not think the government should have a big role in regulating the economy.  Basically, I believe the government should protect customers form fraud, have basic workplace safety standards, standards that food, drugs, and items sold are safe to be consumed, anti-trust laws to prevent monopolies and ensure fair competition, a low, basic minimum wage, some environmental regulations, and basic bank regulations to prevent economic crashes.  That's it.  I think with minimal regulation the economy can function best and people can open up their own businesses.  As long as basic safety regulations exist and monopolies and bank crashes are prevented, the economy will do great.  Also, wages will rise as the economy does better.  As far as taxes go, the tax rate on the wealthy should not be raised and the tax code should be simplified eliminating loopholes.  Gradually, the brackets should be flattened and deductions should be capped to prevent shell games.  The middle class should receive the greatest tax break as extra spending money in the middle class will boost the economy.  Also, the corporate tax rate should be lowered so companies and incentivized not to move overseas.  When a company moves overseas, all assets leaving the country should be taxed.  In terms of spending, it needs to be cut greatly.  Entitlements need to be reformed so they don't go bankrupt and make the country bankrupt along with it.   Cut welfare programs and other wasteful studies.  Get the government out of education.  Medicare needs great reform and should gain the right to negotiate drug prices in order to cut costs for the taxpayer.  Also, we spend more on our military than the next 8 countries combined so we should stop increasing military spending and when we take military action that helps another nation, the nation we helped should reimburse the American taxpayer for the cost spent, including a lump sum for every wounded American soldier and for the family of every killed American soldier.   We must make across-the board-cuts so that we no longer increase the debt by 2030 and we pay back at least $50 billion in principal each year starting in 2035.  Pass a balanced budget constitutional amendment.

This pretty much sums up my views.

Foreign
NATO: I think we should renegotiate as it benefits Europe more than it benefits us.

ISIS: ISIS was created as a result of the invasion of Iraq along with disastrous foreign policy since. Thankfully it seems to be getting smaller, but I do support strikes on their bases (not on civilian targets however).

China and Russia: Both are corrupt dictatorships that we need to be allied with. It would be disastrous to have a war with either of them. We should continue trade and build better relations.

Cuba: End all aspects of the embargo and build good relationship.

Israel: I support a two state solution.

Syria/Refugees: "Extreme vetting" as proposed by Trump. Admit a select number (no more than 5–10,000) every year and prioritize families over single men.

Electoral Reform
Electoral College Reform: Abolish it and include the territories in a popular vote.

Gerrymandering: Nothing should be taken into account besides population when drawing districts.

Term limits: Oppose

Voter ID: Oppose, and make all voting by mail.

Primaries: Get rid of the delegates and choose the nominee by a direct popular vote held on one day. Allow anyone to vote in either party's primary.

Statehood: Support D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico as states. Also I think some should be split.

Voting age: Lower to 16

Corruption/Lobbying: Ban all corporate lobbying.

- International coalition of Japan, South Korea, India, Russia, the European Union, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, the U. K., and America should economically pressure China into forcing Kim Jong Un down and instating Kim Han Sol into a democratic transition. If they refuse, all countries involved will reduce trade with China by, say, 60%, and place certain sanctions on them. If we’re lucky, Wang Yang might be Xi Jinping’s successor, and if that happens we have a good shot at improving relations with China.
- We should consider signing a trade deal with India, South Africa, Mozambique, Indonesia, Myanmar, Kenya, Australia and Uganda. This would allow us a strong trade boost in the Indian Ocean.
- League of Free and Democratic Nations, inviting all nations with a 6.0 average(not counting the “Functioning of Government” score) to join; Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Mauritius, Malta, Uruguay, and Botswana should be the governing members of this League

Democracy-Related Issues

Constitutional Reform: While keeping the federal system of government, I support completely rewriting the Constitution such that there would be a unicameral parliament with mixed-member proportional representation with a 5% electoral threshold, and relegating the Presidency (like the Governor-General in British Commonwealth countries) to a mainly ceremonial position.

I also support incorporating the original ten amendments of the Bill of Rights, as well as including the right to vote, equal rights, and Free and Fair Elections amendments while strongly encouraging the various states to adopt automatic, universal voter registration.

Second Amendment: The Second Amendment was intended to be seen as protecting an individual right as with all the other original ten amendments that comprised the Bill of Rights when it was added to the Constitution.  When it was originally written, 'militia' connoted the entirety of the citizenry, not just a government-created body.

Accordingly, I support concealed-carry, castle-doctrine laws, and other liberalizing measures. I strongly oppose gun-bans at any governmental level.  However, as with every other amendment, there are limits.

With greater freedom comes greater responsibility in using that freedom, and it is in that spirit that I support measures like mandatory firearms training and universal background checks before any gun or permit is issued, to ensure that the unorganized citizens' militia is well-trained and well-regulated.

District of Columbia: Support having the non-federal areas of DC retroceded to Maryland as the city of Washington, thereby enabling the residents within to be represented at all levels of government.

Social/Cultural Hot-Button issues

Women's Rights: I support measures closing the gender wage gap including raising the minimum wage, fair scheduling practices, pay transparency, universal childcare, paid sick leave, and paid family care leave.

I also support the final ratification of the UN conventions on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Rights of the Child.

Gay Rights: I applaud the Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage nationwide, and support the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act banning LGBT discrimination in the workplace, as well as other efforts to ensure that the LGBT community is accepted as full and equal members in our society.

Race: Favor keeping racial/ethnic preferences for college/university applicants while adding new emphasis on socio-economic status and poverty.  Support ending housing discrimination against racial/ethnic minorities, as well as fixing and preserving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (instead of scrapping them); the full restoration and re-authorization of the Voting Rights Act; ending the abuse of authority by law-enforcement agencies; and ending the 'War on Drugs' beginning with overturning the Controlled Substances Act, criminal justice reform including ending mandatory minimum sentencing, and instead treat the drug war as a public health issue.

Economic issues

Secondary Education: Favor adapting the Finland education model to the United States, including a major expansion in after-school tutoring programs as well as universal pre-school education; and changing the traditional school year to a year-round schedule for struggling schools.

Higher Education: Support making community colleges and vocational schools tuition-free, and encouraging prospective college students to fulfill their introductory course requirements in a community college, while subsequently completing their bachelor's and master's degrees in the four years they will spend at a traditional college/university.

Tax Code: In addition to closing tax loopholes, raising taxes on capital gains and dividends, preserving the estate tax, and setting the top individual income tax rate at 50%, I favor tax reforms including lowering the corporate income tax alongside cracking down on overseas tax havens, and introducing the Value-Added Tax (superseding all preceding sales and use taxes) tied with cash rebates via smart cards for less affluent Americans.

Entitlement programs: I support Medicare Extra for All.

To ensure the future of Medicare and Social Security for generations to come (and perhaps even expanding them), I favor allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, raising the payroll tax as well as eliminating the cap on it, tie the COLA to the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly, and gradually raise the retirement age to 70.

Free Trade: Strongly support free trade, and favor the establishment of the Free Trade Area of the Americas, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, trans-Atlantic free trade agreements with the European Union and the United Kingdom, and the completion of the Doha Development Round of the World Trade Organization.

Also support transforming the African Growth and Opportunity Act into a free trade agreement.

To ease the economic disruption caused in part by these trade agreements, I favor replacing the inadequate and ineffective Trade Adjustment Assistance program with a more muscular alternative, along with the repeal of the Taft-Hartley Act in its entirety, and passage of the Employee Free Choice Act.

Immigration Reform: I fully support the passage of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, and oppose the construction of a border wall.

Energy Independence: I support the federal coal-leasing program; increasing investments into clean coal technology; strictly regulating the fracking practices of the natural gas industry; as well as lifting the ban on exporting liquefied natural gas and oil, especially to Europe.

In addition, I favor expanding research into nuclear fusion; newer forms of nuclear fission technology; increasing investments into hydrogen fuel-cell technologies, and alternative renewable energy sources like wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass among others; better battery storage technology for utilities; rebuilding our electrical grid to make it more compatible with renewables; promoting energy efficiency in government as well as in private industry, using the LEED Green Building Rating System as a model; tax credits for hybrid vehicles; and increasing fuel economy standards for newer vehicles.

I also support opening Yucca Mountain as a storage site for spent nuclear waste, as well as increasing our capacity for reprocessing spent nuclear fuel so that they can be reused and to reduce the total amount of waste that would have to be sent there.

Infrastructure: To ensure sustainable economic growth for decades to come, we need to rebuild and expand our infrastructure for the 21st century and beyond.  A key element of that would be the creation of a national infrastructure bank, with a portfolio covering everything from transportation to water/sanitation systems.

Foreign Policy

Support the ratification of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and an expansion of foreign aid through the Millennium Challenge Corporation.  Advocate cultivating our relations with India through such agreements like the U.S.-India Civil Nuclear Agreement, with the ultimate objective of making India into an ally as special and important to the United States as the United Kingdom is today.  Support reforming military procurement and compensation costs, as well as reshaping our military to better handle the twin challenges of counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency, including a major expansion of the Special Forces and the Counterterrorism Partnerships Fund.

Favor moving our bases in Germany and Italy to Poland and Romania as part of a broader strategy to counter and contain Russian revanchism, as well as gradually moving US military units from Okinawa to Guam and the Philippines to deter Chinese aggression.  Support rebuilding and increasing the size of our navy (as well as building a twelfth carrier strike group, to be assigned to the Pacific Fleet), the modernization of our nuclear arsenal, and expansion of our missile defense system to better protect our allies, and keeping our armed forces on the cutting edge technologically to meet any threat posed.

Economic views: I support single-payer healthcare, free-tuition at public universities, 15 dollar national minumum wage, raising the top marginal tax rate to 50%, eliminating the cap on social security taxes, and withdrawing from NAFTA and the WTO.
Social views: I support abortion rights, same-sex marriage, a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, restoring the federal assault weapons ban, marijuana legalization, and abolishing capital punishment.
Foreign policy views: I believe the United States should not use military action against any country that has not attacked us first and I believe we should close down most of our overseas military bases, and end all foreign aid along with withdrawing from NATO, finally I believe we should prioritize funding our Nuclear triad (which would have a No-first use policy) over our bloated conventional forces.

Ideology
Social: Center on some issues, left on others
Economic: Social democrat
Foreign Policy: Dovish
Political Registration: D-NV

Social Policy
Abortion: Pro-choice. Support Planned Parenthood, support not allowing states to defund it and overturn the Hyde Amendment.

Same-Sex Marriage: Duh.

Transgender Issues: Use the restroom of their gender, not the one they were born with.

Drugs: War on Drugs is a disaster. Legalize, tax, and regulate drugs, starting with weed, but one legalization at a time.

Death Penalty: Oppose and pro-lifers who support this are massive hypocrites.

Gun Control: Close gun show loophole and expand background checks. Anything else is too far, and I'd go as far as saying blue states go too far with this.

Affirmative Action: Support.

Prostitution: No; women shouldn't be bribec to have sex.

Euthanasia: Oppose on moral grounds, along with physician assisted suicide.

Immigration: Keep the border secure, deport criminals who are here illegally, citizenship to all illegals if they aren't criminals and pay taxes in 10 years.

Police Issues/Black Lives Matter: Pro-BLM and oppose police brutality and hold officers accountable.

Free Speech/Political Correctness: Pro-free speech, but the GOP are massive hypocrites on this. They are so quick to call college students at California who shut down right wing speakers SJW (correctly), but anytime a Democrat says something un-American, the have a thin skin and get defensive, basically becoming right wind SJW's. Political Correctness is necessary in order to protect politics from staying civil, and oftentimes "telling it how it is" is a code word for racism on the right

School Prayer: Status quo.

Muslim Ban: No.

PATRIOT ACT/NSA Spying: Need a warrant

Economic Issues
Minimum Wage: Raise to $15 at a rate of 50 cents per year, then index to inflation.

Social Security: Lift the taxable income cap, and cut the income tax rates to help pay for Medicare for All. Do not support expanding the program. And no Social Security is not broke contrary to whatever the GOP wants you to think.

Healthcare: Support Medicare for All, similar to Bernie's bill, but phased in over a longer period of time. Second choice would be a public option. Also support drug imports from Canada, whose markets are already tightly regulated, and allow the federal government to negotiate drug prices with drug companies.

Globalization/Trade: Support free trade in theory, but that doesn't make every free trade deal good. Oppose TPP, support re-negotiation of NAFTA.

Deficit/Debt: Debt doesn't matter. Deficits don't if there's a recession, but do if the economy is good and all Americans are prospering.

Campaign Finance Reform: Limits on donations to all campaigns, congressional campaign committees, and state/national parties, with guaranteed public funding. Gut SuperPacs and corporate Pac money. Also limit how much you could self-fund your campaign.

Unions: Get rid of the Taft-Hartley Act that created right to work, which was created y the Republicans in attempt to undercut unions.

Energy: Pro-solar. Pro-wind. Pro-nuclear. Anti-coal.

Job Creation: A second new deal. Infrastructure redevelopment across the Rust Belt for not just better roads, but better sewer and drainage systems, as well nationwide broadband. Also need tighter building codes and larger seawalls to withstand natural disasters like hurricanes.

Education: Support common core, make in-state college free, universal childcare, support full day kindergarten, and universal pre-K.

Taxes: Raise marginal tax rates on wealthy when appropriate. Would like to see the top 1% pay as much as they did in an effective tax rates to prior to Reagan. Also support a carbon tax and a tax on Wall Street speculation. Repeal the Bill Clinton capital gains tax cut, Trump's income tax cuts, Bush's tax cuts, expand earned income tax credit, hijack the coporate tax rate back up to 30%.

Other economic issues: Paid family medical leave by law (12 weeks for maternity leave 2 weeks for paternity leave). 10 days of vacation time by law.

Foreign Policy
Middle East: Get out. None of the countries unilaterally have attacked us. Fully support the Iran Deal. Oh, and quit funding Saudi Arabia as they continue to massacre civilians in Yemen and show respect to international law. I'm not a Pacifist, however. If there's a genocide or illegal occupation, aid, and if necessary, military should be used, but you have to go through the UN first.

Syria Refuges: Support Obama era policies but we can only take so many and we have to ensure we maintain the proper vetting.

Israel/Palestine: If I were alive in 1948, I wouldn't have favored the creation of Israel. But this is 2017, not 1948. Favor two internationally recognized states with 1967 border (and no the Palestine state should not be free of Jews Hamas). I'm no fan of Israel, but Palestine aren't exactly angels either. Oppose BDS, since pressure is needed on Palestine too.

North Korea: Go back to Bill Clinton's foreign policy towards North Korea.

Russia: Supported sanctions for electing melding, and annexing Crimea. But we should avoid war with them unless they attack us unilaterally.

Climate Change
Anthropogenic Climate change is real and is naturally occurring. Support increasing funding towards climate change, with an increased emphasis on aerosols. Oppose efforts to privatize NOAA. Support Paris Climate Agreement but it needs to be enforceable. Also increased money towards weather forecasting, most notably to improve the US based Global Forecast System.

Electoral Reform
Electoral College Reform: Support to avoid the smaller states from being screwed over but expand the size of the house.

Gerrymandering: Oppose. Support independent commission with guidelines on not splitting up COI for both congressional and legislative seats.

Term limits: Oppose for legislative seats, support for executive seats.

Voter ID: Oppose.

Instant Run-off Voting: Support

Primaries: Let the states decide, but all states should hold the presidential and statewide office primaries on the same day, eliminating the urge for caucuses.

Statehood: Make D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico as states, along with maybe the NMI and the Virgin Islands (or combine them with PR/Guam). Let American Samoa be its own nation or be annexed by Western Samoa.

Voting age: Let states decide on whether it should be lowered to 16.

No I meant that the government acts like the ones in Latin and South America and one of the major political parties are against statehood. Also I don`t know why you are talking about Washington D.C since only nine percent of its population is Hispanic.
