Overview:

Social: Libertarian Socialist
Economic: Far left
Foreign Policy: Globalist

Social Policy:

Abortion: Pro-choice until the third trimester, when it should only be allowed if medically necessary.
Marriage: Fully support same-sex marriage.
Drugs: Legalize marijuana at the federal level, but alert the public of its potential negative impacts. Implement warning labels on all marijuana products.
Death Penalty: While I am not principally opposed to ending the lives of scumbags who commit crimes like murder and rape, I do not think that this should be decided by the state. Being locked up in a cell 23 hours a day is a worse punishment, anyways.
Gun Control: I support universal, extensive background checks that go far beyond those that are mandated today. I also support a ban on handguns, assault rifles, and bump stocks, and think that there should be limits on the amount of ammunition that can be purchased. All firearms need to be registered and stored in a secure location.
Religious Freedom: Allow everyone to worship however and whoever they wish, as long as they do not physically harm others. I support full separation of church and state on every level.
Affirmative Action: Oppose, in the majority of cases.
Political Correctness: I support full freedom of speech. I oppose complete political correctness, but people should not be threatened.
Euthanasia: I support euthanasia for people who are in their right minds and are suffering from a terminal illness.
Prostitution: I am principally opposed to prostitution. However, it is not the business of the state. Prostitution should be legalized and heavily regulated.
Pornography: Legalize all pornography, as long as it depicts consenting adults.
Immigration: I support a much less stringent immigration policy. I oppose separating families, and support a path to citizenship for legal immigrants and illegal immigrants who have not been convicted of a crime. I vehemently oppose a border wall.

Economic Policy:

Minimum Wage: I support a federal minimum wage of $15 an hour. This should be adjusted every year according to inflation.
Right-to-work: Right-to-work is a blatant insult to the honest working-class people of this nation. It should have been abolished decades ago.
Taxation: Taxation should be decreased for the poor and middle class, while the rich need to pay their fair share. I support a new, more efficient tax code that isn't Trump's.
Healthcare: I fully support universal healthcare. The United States is one of the only developed countries in the world that has not implemented this system. Even the German Empire had universal healthcare in the 1880s.
Education: I am fully opposed to vouchers. We need to create a comprehensive education plan that reinvests in and completely overhauls public schools. You know that we have a problem when a huge percentage of teenagers are depressed and even committing suicide.
Free Trade: I support free trade agreements that benefit American workers. The Trans-Pacific Partnership and NAFTA don't fall into this category.
NASA: Our current policy regarding space exploration is an utter joke. We need a renewed interest in space exploration. This may very well be the key to saving humanity in the future. New discoveries will vastly improve science, and boost our economy.

Foreign Policy:

Iran: The United States needs to reenter the deal reached under the Obama Administration. With no deal, the Iranians are free to develop as many nuclear weapons as they wish.
Syria: The United States needs to intervene in this conflict. There is a human rights emergency ongoing in Syria. Obama failed to deliver on his promise of intervention if Assad "crossed the line in the sand" by using chemical weapons on his people, an atrocity that he committed multiple times.
Israel/Palestine: I support a two-state solution.
Russia: Russia is one of our greatest adversaries. We turned a blind eye to the invasion and annexation of Crimea, and are now doing the same to Russian interference in the 2016 election. We need to change our approach to Russia.

Environment:

Climate Change: Coal is a dying industry, despite what Donald Trump may believe. Investing in and widely implementing renewable energy resources needs to be a top priority for the United States. The Paris Climate Agreement, which Trump withdrew from, is not stringent enough. Another, more adequate agreement needs to be reached worldwide.
Deforestation: The United States needs to commit to preserving the environments. Impose strict regulations on logging. Drastically expand existing protected areas, and create new ones. Make a commitment to protecting our environment.

Electoral and Political Reforms:

Term Limits: Abolish term limits for all offices. Presidential term limits were imposed by a Republican-controlled Congress after FDR served four terms in office.
Electoral College: Abolish the electoral college. The electoral college is a relic from the 19th century that has no place in today's world. Decide elections by popular vote.
Voter ID: I oppose voter ID. This puts minorities at a huge advantage, and if you look at the statistics, may have been the reason that Hillary Clinton lost Wisconsin and other states that were very close.

I'm a former Democrat. However, in recent years, I have become disillusioned with the fake, neoliberal party leadership, who I feel are not in touch with the majority of their voters. After experimenting with third parties, I became an independent about two years ago.
