Social

Social issues are generally cold-button for me. Economics is much more important.

Abortion: Mildly pro-choice. First trimester, yes. Second trimester, sometimes. Third trimester, almost never. Oppose partial-birth abortions.

Gay rights: I couldn't care less. I have no problems with civil unions.

Gun control: Strongly pro-gun control. It's a lot harder to kill somebody with a knife than with a gun.

Death penalty: Not against the idea, but if you sentence somebody to life without parole by accident, you can release them and give them a s**tload of money. If you fry someone by accident, they're still fried.

School prayer: No organized prayer. Casual references are okay.

Affirmative Action: No. Just no.

Patriot Act: A clearly unconstitutional document.

3 Strikes Laws: There can always be extenuating circumstances. Hard and fast rules are dumb. If the acccused has committed three serious crimes, then the judge will realize that.

Prostitution: Legal, but restricted and regulated.

Gambling: Casino revenue isn't worth the crime it generates.

Drugs: Legal, but restricted and regulated.

Economic

Education: It should be the state's #1 priority. If you don't like what the state gives, go to a private school, but you won't get money from the state for it.

Free Trade: Permissible, if and only if the country in question has equal or greater protection for workers.

Income Tax: The "Fair Tax" has the most Orwellian name I've ever heard. Progressive taxation is key. Let those who can pay pay.

Universal Health Care: Badly needed in this country. I fully support it.

Foreign Policy

Israel: It's here. It's not leaving. But it has a hugely bloated ego, due to the United States. I support a two-state solution.

Iran: Let them be.

Iraq: It is not up to us to determine what sort of political system another country wants.

Military Spending: Slash it.

An endorsement of atheism is just as bad as an endorsement of Christianity.

Who is proposing a government endorsement of atheism?

The Turks. Tongue

Country First must be the dumbest international non-policy ever.

My International policy would be Country last.

Country last would be just as bad, wouldn't it? Unless I misunderstand you, of course.

They are illegal for a reason, you know.

Why, pray tell?

Racism?  He took that quote from my drugs stance, if you had actually read it.  I must be some Bible-thumping, minority-hating, reactionary, white southerner in your eyes huh?  The reason why "illegal" drugs are "illegal" is because of people's safety.  I think the safety of the American people is more important than making a few bucks off of Mary J.  But obviously other people don't share that thought.

I assume you support the banning of tobacco, which is far more dangerous. I also assume you support prohibition.

Centrist isn't a viable option for foreign policy, hash

Then find a word to describe somebody who isn't an isolationist nor an interventionist.

Internationalist?

Create new seats the way they were before abolition. And then hold elections for them.

Which universities would have seats?

I'd love to know how you can with a straight face "support Israel 100%".

Because they're the only democracy in the Middle East, and were it not for the constant murdering of Israelis and the election of those subhuman trash Hamas, they would give the Palestinians more autonomy?

Yes, they would give the Palestinians autonomy, if they elected the right people. That's a great example of democracy right there.

Do you realize what you're saying?

Ah, so you believe in democracy only when the right people are elected. Also, I thought you said you support Israel 1000%. Now you're advocating civil disobedience.

Going on strike and demonstrating peacefully won't do anything. Israel has power. The Palestinians do not. They cannot divorce themselves from the system.

Worked for Gandhi and MLK.

And guess how many people it didn't work for?

However, increase the size of the Commons so for every 100,000 people in Britain, there is a representative.

!!!

The Commons is already huge.

If people would eat more buffalo/bison and less beef, it would greatly improve the prairies.  This is because the diet of Bison are different than cattle and the American prairie has evolved with bison so that they coexist nicely.  Eating bison instead of beef is also healthier as bison is lower in fat and cholesterol, so it's a win-win.. while bison is still very flavorful.

It may be flavorful, but the flavor isn't good.

Economic Issues

Taxes: I think the best thing would be a mixture of a flat income tax & a national sales tax, because having just one one would make it too high.
Employers and Employees: I basically take all of the "pro business" stances.
Free trade: Strongly support.
Spending: Limited & spent mostly on military.
Social Security: Support privatization
Welfare: Ideally, it would be eliminated, but I support reforming it as a first step there.
Healthcare: Oppose socialized medicine and a public option
Education: I think vouchers for private schools  would be a better alternative to public schools, strongly support homeschooling, & strongly oppose making education mandatory.
Minimum Wage: Support abolishing it.
Regulation: Very little.

Wow, that's really terrible.

Welfare: I have no problem with unemployed getting money from the government. I have a problem with the lazy f***s who abuse the system and just sit around wathcing American Idol on their flat screen TV waiting for their next check from the government.

I'm sure you know a lot of people like that.
