Title says it all-apologies if this has already been done.

Since Obama won most of the most populous counties in America and Romney won most of the least populous ones, I was curious to see if anyone knew the answer to this question.

Additionally, if anyone knows the answer to this question for each state, that would be cool too.

Most populous Romney county: Maricopa, Arizona, though Harris, Texas certainly was close.

Least populous Obama county: Technically it would be the newly established Kalawao, Hawaii, but otherwise would be Yakutat, Alaska (city/bourough connecting the southeast panhandle to mainland). The smallest Obama county we can see on an election map is San Juan, Colorado.

Here's a huge list of all the counties here

Our Election Guy once compiled an interesting map about the voting behavior of the smallest and biggest county in each state:

Red - Biggest and smallest county voted for Obama
Blue - Biggest and smallest county voted for Romney
Green - biggest county voted for Obama, smallest county voted for Romney
Gold - Biggest county voted for Romney, smallest county voted for Obama

Interesting dynamics in a lot of these states, especially in Colorado, Maine, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the south.

Also I used 2010 census for the populations.

PS: Technically, D.C. should be red.

the newly established Kalawao, Hawaii

1905 is newly established?

Now, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they disestablished it.
