I have to think that MormDem would beat JCL pretty easily in a neutral environment, as Ohio likes Republicans establishment-flavored, though JCL would do really well in rural western Ohio, especially the border with Indiana.

Strickland map, except JCL would do way worse in the Cincinnati area and a tad better everywhere else, including significantly along the border with WV, where MormDem wouldn't have Strickland's home-effect and the area's generally become more right-wing over the past decade.
