This was long after the infamous "bicycle in a rice paddy" ad... long after everyone knew that Pete Hoekstra was going down to a landslide defeat. Debbie Stabenow won about 59-38.

Hoekstra didn't even make 45% as the poll suggested. 
I watched that ad just now, and...................... jesus.
