Why did the Democrats sit this one out? This is inexcusable.

Sasse winning the Republican primary is the perfect reason why the Democrats should always have a candidate - no matter what. Sasse is so extreme that they could have beaten him.

What about the Greens?

Why did the Washington Post report that Sasse is unopposed?

There is a Democratic candidate (a staunch activist against the XL Pipeline being approved, I might add), but Sasse despite his controversies in being Tea Party (Palin)-backed has nothing to worry about and is practically another typical socially conservative politician you would find in NE. His biggest problems will just be his support for the pipeline, his past with Obamacare and defending himself against the DC "outsider" label but even those won't be enough to tilt the race. Ben Nelson or perhaps Chris Beutler might be able to have beaten Sasse, but Domina has about as good of a chance at winning as Chad Taylor in neighboring Kansas.

Nebraska is a pretty strong R-leaning state, so he'd probably win anyway, but other than that, I'd have to agree with you.  Democrats could beat him under the right circumstances.

Hopefully left-wing media outlets will throw a bunch of rape-and-abortion-related questions his way and see what happens ... you never know.

Domina, the dem candidate, seems to be decent. But the problem is that Sasse won't say anything that is controversial, so he will win.

Yeah, Sasse seems like a very smart candidate. Not the type to make an unforced error.
