What are your predictions for this type of match-up? What are the best and worst scenarios for both tickets? Discuss

Hillary Clinton might not please Wall Street by picking Elizabeth Warren, but Paul opting for Ted Cruz could very well turn off undecided/moderate voters. Cruz being on the Republican ticket might make it comparable to Barry Goldwater in its image.

Hillary Clinton/Elizabeth Warren - 405 electoral votes
Rand Paul/Ted Cruz - 136 electoral votes

If Paul manages to define Warren as out of touch and make Cruz be perceived as rallying the base instead of being hostile, then he might be able to eke out a small victory. It is doubtful that Paul/Cruz could really expand the map, however.

Rand Paul/Ted Cruz - 275 electoral votes
Hillary Clinton/Elizabeth Warren - 263 electoral votes

I'm just not sure Elizabeth Warren would agree to be on a ticket (or in a cabinet with) Hillary Clinton.

There's still a pretty big difference between wanting someone to run and wanting to be in their administration.

I would think Paul would be smart enough not to pick Cruz as his running mate. Given that Paul is already of dubious acceptability as a nominee to the establishment wing, the last thing he would want to do is outright antagonize that faction with a Cruz pick. I suspect Paul would pick someone low key with conservative credentials but not clearly aligned with either faction of the party.
