Okay, I'll be a right-wing nutjob today and then go back to being a pinko commie next time.

Not according to the Political Compass, and we all know that that's much more important than what you actually think.

But of course, Gabu. The Political Compass is all-knowing and all-powerful.

That's right.

Now, repeat after me:

"PRAISE JESUS"
"God caused 9/11 in retaliation for our acceptance of gays."
"God's laws are superior to any human law."
"The Ten Commandments are the fundamental groundwork for American law."

You've gotta learn all of the catch phrases if you're to be a successful religious rightist.

That F Scale test is pretty screwed up.  At least three questions were blatantly stolen from the Political Compass, and they have the same messed up idea that blind belief in astrology is somehow "conservative" (they must take after Nancy Reagan, but then again, she supports stem cell research).  The sex offenders question was completely ridiculous; sure, imprisonment isn't enough, but publicly whipping them?  Almost all of the questions seem to be making fun of the Christian right in an effort to get a liberal response.  Completely biased.  My score was a 3.4, not that it matters since the test was so dumb.

Sure thing, wingnut.

I have a question about the compass.

"Some people are naturally unlucky"

What does this have to do with anything? Is there a liberal or conservative response to it?  and if so, How would it be a liberal or conservative response?
Well, the test is extremely flawed.  I was talking about this with Gabu the other day.  Some of the questions are so poorly worded that if you think about them, they don't even make sense.  Not to mention that the test thinks belief in astology makes you more authoritarian.

Anyway, think about this one: "I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong."  Who defines whether it's wrong to support the country?  The person does?  Then, if they define it as wrong, why would they continue supporting their country?  That question is truly assinine.

I agree.  They're probably just weight questions to make someone sound like they're more/less extreme.

Weird questions like that are generally part of the California F-Scale test to detect fascism. Which is stupid.

Another problem with the F scale-- what the hell does supernatural belief have to do with fascism?  If they take a common fascist like Hitler, he actually suppressed religions, not embraced them.  This test, including its ones stolen from the Political Compass, are just there to get liberal responses by poking fun at fundamentalists.  This one's even more worthless than the Vosdem Chart Test, and makes the Poitical Compass look like a god when it comes to accuracy.

It is related to psychological paranoia (i.e. "it isn't my fault! Life screwed me up!"-type thinking) and is observed in almost all dictators.

Actually the F Scale test was invented before the Political Compass test. It first appeared in a 1948 book entitled The Authoritarian Personality. So its actually the opposite of what you said Ebowed. The Political Compass stole a couple of questions from the F Scale test.

Ah.  In that case the Political Compass did a better way of wording those questions to make them look original, but then I'm biased since I took that test first.  Either way I still think the test is completely inaccurate, whether or not it's related to psychological paranoia, it comes off with a bad impression on me.

To be fair, this is more of a "fun" version of it than the Californian (original) version. In any case, though, it is not a political test - it is a personality test.

I have tried several times, but can't bring myself to finish this version. It's not very interesting.

I scorred 3.333333

Within normal limits; an appropriate score for an American. (The overall average score for groups tested in the original study is listed in the 1950 publication as 3.84, with men averaging somewhat higher and women somewhat lower.)

The PC is definitly weird if Ebowed is getting a -5.23 socially.  We need to make a new one that's more balanced.
