Is anyone going to run for Prez, or considering it from the following states?...

Alaska
Hawaii
Oregon
Wyoming
Montana
Utah
either Dakotas
Oklahoma
Louisiana
Michigan
Alabama
W.Virginia
Maryland
Rhode Island
New Hampshire
Maine

side note, it probably would be campaign suicide to run from Alaska or Hawaii wouldn't it?

Maryland.  I have rumors heard that Ehrlich will run for President if he wins re-election in 2006.  It's basically all he can do after he wins re-election.  He could run against Mikulski in 2010, but she would crush him.  The only option left on the table is run for President in 2008.

Republicans, how would Ehrlich do in the Republican primary?  What type of support would he get?

Alaska - no
Hawaii - Linda Lingle could give it a shot, but probably get nowhere
Oregon - no
Wyoming - no
Montana - not in 2008

either Dakotas - Thune is currently on a high, but not for 2008.

Louisiana - maybe Blanco, maybe Landrieu
Michigan - Granholm would but can't.
Alabama - no
W.Virginia - no
Maryland - probably Ehrlich
Rhode Island - no, but a Chafee run would be funny.
New Hampshire - no
Maine - probably Snowe, but she won't get anywhere

In terms of South Dakota - Herseth. She's ambitious, smart and an effective speaker. I'd likely vote against her, but I could easily see her on one half or the other of the dem 2012 ticket. She's one to watch.

Anyone to run from -

West Virginia - How about Sen Jay Rockefeller for the Dems?

His uncle, Nelson Rockefeller, then Governor of New York State, tried for the GOP nomination three times in the 60's and really wanted to be President.
(I guess Nelson could be called a real "Rockefeller Republican").

Orrin Hatch is great!

He understands the difference between the law and his own personal opinion!

I second that !
