No way this is true. Maybe in a 3-way situation he'd squeak by, but DesJarlais is done.

I'd really like to know how all these "family values" voters in the South justify supporting people like Gingrich, Sanford, Vitter, and DesJarlais.

I share a media market with his district; you'll hear a lot of anger about DesJarlais and wanting him gone from Republicans. We'll see how the Republican primary turns out, but if he makes it through...they'd rather vote for the guy who actually was involved in aborting his own kid but tells everyone else it's wrong, than the party that supposedly condones it.
