I think he stands a shot - the primary may be a tough race but he has the money to compete.

If he can define Hillary early, I think he has a realistic shot at beating her. He has an extraordinary amount of experience with economics and has traveled around the world, giving him ample foreign policy experience. He's tough but sincere, and as Napoleon stated, his actions over Obama's birth certificate showed real leadership when others were too scared.

He was the only one with the courage to talk about the birth certificate.

I have always loved Trump.

Would be an interesting matchup, but in an election that is going to be focused on economics, I really don't see how Trump could lose this.

Here's my guess at a map for that election:

Donald Trump/Kelly Ayotte - 352 Electoral Votes
Walter Mondale/Martin Heinrich - 186

This is worse than Palin claiming FP experience because she lived near Russia, just because you travel doesn't mean you have diplomatic skills-by your logic we should make an air hostess Secretary of State

Yes, it is time for Trump to make another season of The Apprentice.

The real question is what time is the Apprentice on?

Yes, the Republicans should nominate Trump.

It'll be like 1984... just in reverse.

There isn't a person who is better suited to unite our divided country, and serve as a model for our nation. His honesty, commitment to public justice, history of financial responsibility, and respectful demeanor make him the most qualified person to serve as President in our nation's history.

We would be so lucky to have such a gifted man lead our country.

He was electable before the birth certificate issue. Now he comes across as a joke. If any business man should run, it should be Bill Gates. He has name recognition and would give both parties a hard time if he ran as third party.

Clinton is already defined. She's a household name. She's not same random state senator running for statewide office.

After just gazing through Trump's ontheissues page I think his key to some electoral success, as an independent or third party candidate, would be to play the role of Pat Buchanan or Ross Perot and champion economic protectionism along with fiscal conservatism.  If he stays on message about these issues then I would imagine that he could do well with blue-collar whites and high-school educated whites in the Rust belt and South.

Wow...

Wow...

Trump is, in large measure, the candidate of the Perot Republicans.  Only this time, the Perot Republicans took over the GOP rather than trashing it.

Clearly Atlas overestimated the intelligence of the voters and the health of the American political system.
