If you had to vote for a movie president to place as president in real life, who would it be?   I know I don't have all the movie presidents up there, because there are simply too many to list.  But there are the ones that come to mind, and I'm going by the actors who played them as I can't remember their character names.

Yes, I know this is a stupid poll, but we're in an off election season so it's the time for stupid polls.

I liked Michael Douglas in the American President.

Of the ones I put in the poll (granite they're a lot more), he's the only in which it is identified which party he is with.  All the others (Pullman, Ford, etc), it's never revealed which political party they are with.

President Merkin Muffley, played by Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove, one of my favorite films of all time.

Not only that but Merkin Muffley was clearly a liberal Democrat.

I also think Douglas as President Andrew Shepherd is the best. Mind you the whole film is really a prtotype "West Wing" as it was Written by Aaron Sorkin, and star three people who also appeared in the "West Wing" and many of the characters are very similar. Also two of the films sub plots (the attack on Libya and the hand gun vote) where later used by Sorkin in the "West Wing".

Agreed.  Fonda played the type of President in that film that we all hope to have in a crisis.

I'd have to go with Bill Pullman.

He showed courage, conviction, and determination to rid the world of an evil menace.

Much like GWB has done.

LOL!
