Franken has solid approval numbers:

56-35 approve

... but he trails McFadden by 1 point among Indies.

Obama only has a 38-52 approval in MN right now and voters prefer Republicans to win in the MN House of Reps by a 45-43 margin.

Why is Franken's approval at 56 and yet only leading with 51? Guess that either speaks to partisanship or a strong campaign from McFadden. Either way, McFadden is not going to win against someone with 56% approval.

I'd say Dayton is weaker at this point, but even he's up solidly, so I think the GOP is just shut out of Minnesota this cycle. Maybe 2018.

Survey USA has a heavy Republican bias in Minnesota (for whatever reason), so take the Obama approval numbers with a ton of salt, but the toplines seem reasonable. Franken will win by double digits I think. This isn't a race that the Republicans are targeting seriously.

McConnell has a better chance at being re-elected than Al Franken, according to Sabato. I really like Sabato, but that's really screwed up.
