Anybody who believes this poll probably also believes the poll that says Brownback is up 14 in Kansas

This is also an important point. Remember the only pollster that really ever showed Rauner with a convincing lead was WAA.

Yeah, I'm not believing this until I see corroboration from a reliable pollster. It's kind of funny that the only polls in this state in the past year have been Ras, YouGov, WAA, and internals.

If this poll ends up being accurate...looks like your Kansas prediction is coming true, for Illinois. Tongue

The partisanship here is sickening. Quinn is a crook and we all know it, and this poll's nitty gritty is garbage and we all know it. But because Quinn has a D after his name it's okay.

Precisely, that's the whole point. Both major parties in Illinois have demonstrated often enough that they're corrupt. Might as well take the corrupt bastards that do some good.

If this poll is with 15 points of the actual race(which it's almost certainly not) it's just another reason why I can't wait to leave this state in a year

The good people of Illinois are looking across the country and seeing the damage Republican governors have done. In Kansas to the west, in Wisconsin to the north, in New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the east, Republican governors have run their states into the ground and destroyed the years of good work Democratic governors had done. The good people of Illinois refuse to follow the same doomed path.

Maybe this poll surveys dead people, unlike the others.

I want to see reliable pollsters so I can knowingly throw this out as an outlier. If PPP or Quinnipiac has this up also by 13, then maybe it's real. I doubt it.

If someone as loathed as Quinn can win, then Paul LePage is a shoo-in

Didn't you say this when it had Rauner leading by single digits?

I'm sure his wife can give your boy enough mouth relief. He surely doesn't need your help too.

Would you kindly explain to me, in great detail, Illinois' current economic situation?

Yeah, states with Republican governors on average have higher jobs growth rates and better economic growth indicators.  Of course, there are many factors that have nothing to do with who is governor, but most Republican governors will get re-elected quite handily.

If Rauner loses in November, the Republicans should run Aaron Schock for governor in 2018. He may have a chance at winning the state.

After reading this thread, I'm convinced some on this poll would vote for Ed Gein and treat him like a pretty swell guy so long as he had a D after his name.

The fact that you're comparing Governor Quinn to a murderer says more about you than it does him.

I'm not directly comparing them. I'm using an even more despicable figure to prove how awful this football team mentality has gotten

But that doesn't actually prove it. The sensibility that that proves anything counts as making a comparison.

Quinn is not despicable and the fact that you're saying he is is shameful.
