It's worth noting that this pollster has consistently shown LePage doing better than other polls conducted around the same time.

Let's see if anyone confirms that Cutler is gaining ground.

LePage is a racist extremist, so what is so great about him being in the lead?

The fact that he is not Michaud

Michaud is a mainstream Democrat, so it's not like LePage is a balanced alternative or anything. Apparently, Republicans will support anyone, regardless of how extreme they are.

Just curious, whom would you consider an "extreme" Democrat?  Do they even exist, or extremism only reserved for Republicans?

Republicans are the only ones who put up extremist candidates for office consistently, you don't see Democrats nominating people like Cynthia McKinney (who isn't a Democrat anymore) for anything. It's not hard to see the difference.

Are you really trying to argue that the blue dog Michaud is an extremist? Paul LePage on the other hand is indisputably a Tea Party extremist.

I don't understand why the  non-GOPers are cheering for LePage, he's a loon.

So I guess because of Orman and Walker more people are finally starting to realize that voting for the Indy is an option after all, with Pressler and now Cutler surging.

Maine is one of the most independent-friendly states, and has been for some time now. A prominent indie pulling 20% isn't terribly unusual there.

Cutler nearly won as an Indy 4 years ago, greatly outperforming both his poll numbers and the Democratic candidate.  Cutler isn't necessarily any more to be considered a spoiler candidate than Michaud is.

The Dem candidate in 2010 was not viable except for the D next to her name, so he became the de facto D nominee.

No, I'm not ... Evidenced by the fact that I said nothing of the sort.  Just calling out this forum's Democrats for living in a partisan lala land where everyone who's not a liberal is a right winger.
