Cleveland was OK in his first term, despite his opposition to free silver and his goldloving. He at least resisted the stupid high tariffs that the Republicans loved at the time and he did make a nice stand against corruption.

But on the other hand the Greenbacks are one of the greatest parties in US history, so ...

Kind of shocked that Blaine is doing that badly.  I mean yeah he was a Continental Liar from Maine, but from the forum response so far you would assume that he ate babies or something.

I have to admit, my expectations have been shattered.

I voted Ben Butler, for the record.  A fighter for all men of all races who stood up to corporatism before it was cool.

Blaine is one of the better late 19th-century Republicans; its just that he had the misfortune of running against Cleveland.

The problem with Blaine in this poll is not that he is so bad or anything, but that all the conservatives/Republicans/libertarians rally around Cleveland, with all the left-wing rallying around Greenback, leaving Blaine with little to no one to represent.

Cleveland is one of the only Demoratic Presidents who ever gets any love from Republicans, haha.
