By far the most depressing thing about the Update saga continues to be Bushie's choice in food. A plain ham and cheese sandwich (likely on Wonder Bread) for lunch? Ugh. RIP taste buds. Cry

It's truly deplorable.  Apocalyptic, even.

I hope your boss told you himself that you could leave at 3:45, and that you didn't just quietly scurry away.

No worries, he came to my desk at 1545 after I had asked for something else to work on.

I like it a lot.  I don't talk about it much, because I'm trying to play it conservatively, but I really do like it.

I am going to spend the weekend watching my election coverage from the DVR.  I should get in 4 hours tonight, then I'll watch from 1100-1630 before I go to Grandma's for the final family dinner of this round of company.

OK, so we shouldn't post any election spoilers in this thread, since you haven't watched it yet, and don't know how it ends?

All I can say (without getting into plot specifics) is that Wolf Blitzer gives an Emmy-worthy performance.  And the Mark Udall fight sequence had some amazing special effects (and some great stunt work).

I watched it live for about 4 hours Tuesday evening right up until North Carolina sealed the deal for the Republicans.

I'm home a little early due to a slow day.  I finished my project at 1430 and basically twiddled my thumbs and lurked on here.  This is the calm before the avalanche.  All of our work will start coming in before Thanksgiving, then we'll be screaming for these slow days.  I'm getting paid til 1700, but got off at 1545.  Another new guy starts on Monday.  Like I said, we're slow today, but that won't last long.  We'll have enough work to last through March, maybe into April.

Let go early again.  RIP JOB.   You can quote me in your sig when I'm proven correct.

Good Saturday Morning!  I'm getting my oil changed right now and will get my haircut after this is done.  After that, I'll relax and work on some AutoCAD until time to go to dinner.  I should have a good 4-5 hours at home, so I might be able to get a short nap and still have a couple hours for AutoCAD.

Lose that mustache, too, and make your life at least 3x better.

I think I am going to spend a little while on my AutoCAD while I watch the second half of Georgia vs. Kentucky.

Just a little time... the 2nd half of a 56-24 game between two schools you've never been within a 500 mile radius of is more important

King, I have been within 500 miles of Georgia.  I spent 5 weeks working at a computer camp at Mercer University-Atlanta in June and July 2008.  I was never in Athens, but I was as close as Atlanta is to Athens.  I also have taken a week long vacation in Fort Wayne, Indiana visiting my Dad's cousins several years ago, so I was relatively close to Lexington, Kentucky.  I was in the neighboring state, anyway.  I'm not sure if I was inside 500 miles.

Jeff, in the future, if you are without anything to do at work, double-check your work and then ask your supervisor if there's anything else you can help with. If not, what better way to actually practice AutoCAD than at work where you're actually getting paid to? Or make sure you're up to speed on whatever other applications they use (you mentioned Visio earlier, for example). NO MORE THUMB-TWIDDLING.
