I think this is an outlier, but Coakley should never be allowed to run for state-wide office, ever again.

As if blowing one of the most important Senate races of the decade were not enough...

The only Democratic governor of Massachusetts since Dukakis left in 1990 is also the one of only 4 black governors in US history, and one of only two who was elected governor.

Christ Almighty. The margin on this thing look suspicious, but I get the awful feeling Coakley's going to sink all over again.

Does this reallysurprise a lot of you? MA has proven since 1990 it is willing to vote the extreme minority party into the statehouse, especially if the GOP runs a strong candidate.

That the MA Democrats would be nominating Coakley this year after what happened in 2010 is just unbelievable.

This old adage is rather fitting here: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

While it would probably be a bad idea to infer too much from crosstabs of 33 and 27 people, respectively, the poll has Baker up 65-28 in the North Shore (MA-6), but down 40-49 in the Cape & Islands and South Coast (MA-9). Probably R and D-biased samples, respectively, but if they're anywhere near true it means Tisei has a great chance but Keating is safe.

The DCCC pulled out of MA-06 since they figured they had it locked up. The poll there that showed Tisei ahead by 3 also gave Obama a literally impossible 28-63 favorability rating in a D+4 district, so I'm skeptical about that. The dynamics of the Mass race makes it seem unlikely that Baker would have any coattails.

Obvious outlier, but I have been impressed with the Baker campaign. Baker has been focusing his efforts on campaigning in Boston, and other urban areas. The independent vote looks to be breaking heavily into Baker's favor, and I don't think the Democratic GOTV effort will be able to balance out the suburban independent vote in his favor, especially if he is doing well in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, etc.

I honestly believe Baker could help Tisei and Chapman in each of their congressional races.

I still have Coakley winning though, because I think this is to good to be true, but if we get more polls (especially if the MassINC polls shows Baker winning by 3 or more) I'll change my prediction.

I didn't buy it either until the Coakley camp responded by releasing an internal showing her down 2.

Which would be perfectly consistent with the MassINC poll showing her down 1.

I didn't really follow the primaries for this state.  Was there no one else that the Democrats could have put up to run?
Basically any Democrat other than Coakley would have won.

I don't know if I agree with that.
