If Hawkins get's 6% it would still be better than what most third parties get.

Being from New York State, id attribute this mainly to the huge huge preference here among most NY democrats that they prefer Hillary in this state. Also Cuomo has little name recognition except for "the guy we (democrats) vote for out of spite" which is quite apparent for many governors of both parties.
