Very close race.  It looks like Cross is leading by 400-500 votes over Frerichs right now.

Only Dave can enter Governor's results for recent years, and he'll probably do so when the official results are in. The IL Board of Elections is awful and doesn't post unofficial results.

A lot of votes are still out in Cook County and for the mail-ins. Really pulling for Frerichs to pull through. He's a really good guy and his future in politics is bright if he takes office in this.

The State BOE doesn't post them because they don't have them. By law, the local election authorities have until 11/18 to finish counting and until 11/25 to submit the results to the state. Unfortunately until the state has the data and certifies it (probably 11/30) it won't go on their website.

I understand, but it's a slow and inefficient process compared to most states. Some states have statewide unofficial precinct results on election night. It really shouldn't be that difficult to do with modern technology. Is there some particular reason why the Illinois BOE couldn't aggregate election results prior to certification if allowed to? Are the counties opposed to it for some reason?

It really not slow compared to other states. It's just the lack of statewide unofficial results. In IL that has traditionally been left to the media so that the election authorities can concentrate on counting and make the official total.
