Hey all,
Since we finished the Game of Thrones and Balance of Power Games there's been a cool down period where we've hosted no games. I feel like its been sufficient time and and now checking in to see how much interest there'd be in a 1560 Nation Game focusing on Europe and the Americas. The nations  would be as follows: Spain (under Philip II), England (under Elizabeth I), France (under Francis II, but the player would technically be Catherine De Medici), Austria (under Ferdinand I), Russia (under Ivan the Terrible), Scotland (under Mary, the Queen of the Scots), the Ottomans (under Suleiman the Magnificant) and I'd be willing to include Denmark and Sweden if enough interest is shown.

Basically the player would have to worry about settling the new world, dealing with the Reformation, expanding their borders, and keeping their dynasty in power. I have some pretty cool ideas if there's interest.

I'm pretty well versed in this period of history and would love for this to move forward, but that all depends on interest.

Reply if interested and we can get sign ups going Smiley

I might be a little bit short on time on an early stage, but sure, I would be happy to play! (I'm very interested in Catherine De Medici and France, I must say)

Awesome to see some people interested! I'll start writing the rules and assembling the maps tonight and will be preparing to start the official game over the next few days. More people are welcome to join, in fact I'd encourage it!

I'd like to claim Mary, Queen of Scots. But if this starts in 1560 would that mean I'd begin as her mother?

Thanks for the map! I'll be using a close up one for Europe, but this solves my predicament in finding one for the Americas, and should the game go so long, India.

The Ottoman Empire is yours! Smiley

Ahh it's impressive how much Europa universalis IV has improved my knowledge of the time period from 1444-1821.
