Ernest's Reflections on the Revised Common Lectionary - Year B

Just when you thought it was safe to post on the Religion & Philosophy board.                                                                         Revised Common Lectionary IIYes, with the start of the new liturgical year coming up, I'm going to try my hand again at commenting on the reading from the Revised Common Lectionary.  I am going to be a bit more relaxed about it, tho.  Trying to do a commentary on one of the readings from each day proved to be too much because too often I found myself having to stretch to say something beyond the obvious.  I plan on doing a thread for each week rather than each day as I thought to do last time.  I still might do more than one thread per week if inspiration strikes.

First Week of Advent: 27 November to 3 December 2014:
    "Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved."
Second Week of Advent: 4 to 10 December 2014:
    "The Lord does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."
Third Week of Advent: 11 to 17 December 2014:
    "I will rejoice greatly in the Lord."
