Mine is the Kirby vacuum sales one. Especially as he kept insisting it was just a receptionist job and he wouldn't do any sales, which lasted about two days before he was out selling them, and then his sales pitches about how amazing Kirbys were. Best of all the guy who quit a job where he was paid to literally do nothing because some of the managers smoked pot kept a job which is known for employing drug addicts who are influenced at work for much longer. It was the epitome of Update.

My favorite, by far, is the AT&T call center he had right before he got his first CAD(D) job. So many great phrases came out of that: "AT&T likes to splash the cash" and "side-jacking" are of course instant classics. Plus the revelations that he was apparently working alongside a bunch of black people who smoked weed which made him incredibly uncomfortable. And of course the fact that he was being paid lots of money to literally just sit at work the whole day and do nothing. I am 100% confident that he would be at least assistant manager at that call center right now if he hadn't quit.

Perhaps a true Update historian can help because some of this material seems to be lost to the ages, but wasn't Kirby Vacuums and Rainbow Play Systems somehow interconnected?

As for my favorite Bushie job?  ATT with the blacks.  When you can sense the discomfort 1,500 miles away over the Internet?  Oh yea.  Good stuff.

Was AT&T the same place where he supposedly started out in some kind of admin position, and then one day "decided to try out the call center side of things for a while"?

I don't think he said he was trying it.  He admitted at least he was put there.

I'll ask again, does anyone remember the connection between Kirby and Rainbow?

Kirby takes the cake, but there have been some other classics over the years.

The Ameriplan sales rep. The two hard bargaining customers, who happened to be Grandma and Dad, was rich. I'm sure Jeff had to break out everything from his sales toolkit.

Imagine if he had taken an ONG sinecure like opebo advised him to. Would he be under 200 pounds by now?

And of course Bushie does EXACTLY what an MLM is designed to get you to do by going right to his relatives.

On 2nd thought: Yea... AmeriScam is my favorite.

There wasn't any direct connection. They were just the same type of job, going door to door trying to dupe people into buying an insanely overpriced vacuum cleaner they didn't need and likely couldn't afford.

Doesn't Rainbow do playground equipment, though?

What was the job that Bushie left for its scamminess and he then answered another ad and it turned out to be basically the same people?  Or am I just remembering things wrong?
