Remember around this time last year when everyone thought Christie could carry NJ?

As long as Christie was governing NJ, he was okay, although the G.O.P won the election, they saw for themselves how partisan he was, and going into new year, the buyers remorse will be no Christie nomination, Jeb  will be the standard GOP bearer v Clinton Dem standard bearer.

I never thought he would carry New Jersey against her, but then again, I'm just a "typical Hillary hack/shill/whatever epithet the kooks try to lay upon anyone who dares to support the neoconservative warmongering corporatist calculating racist bitch."

I really hope the nominee is Christie, Hilary does best against him, while Jeb and Huck split the southern vote.

Why must we have polls of NJ?  We all know Clinton will win it.

I just wish we had those 50-state polls like SUSA did in the past.

Christie carrying New Jersey is like Romney carrying Massachusetts in 2012.

Not quite that unbelievable. I'd say Christie carrying New Jersey would be like John Edwards being the nominee and carrying North Carolina against Bush in 2004.

A year or two ago, I honestly believed that NJ would be a swing state if Christie was the nominee, figuring it was only about D+5 (with a Sandy effect in 2012) and a 5 point "favourite son" bonus would be reasonable. Looks like I was wrong (although in fairness, Christie's hardly closer in national polls either - perhaps it would get closer if and/or when the national gap gets closer).
