I don't think people here realize the strength of Petit. This is a guy who defeated a nearly 20 year democratic incumbent, who won by almost 20 points in 2014. Not only did he beat her, he swamped her by over 20 points in a presidential election year.


That said, he won't run.

Democrats picked up a month ago in Connecticut a seat that was Republican since Watergate.

To "critique" Christianity is fine.  Christianity isn't something that can't be examined and critiqued.  Nor are the inconsistencies of Christians in the public eye not fair game for examination and critique.

"White Evangelicals are trash."  That statement isn't a "critique".  It's the unapologetic sentiment of a sizable minority here, however.  Since the folks who share that sentiment are extremely comfortable with calling those they disagree with "Nazis", "Sexists", "White Supremacists", "alt-right", "homophobes", "Fascists" with no real factual basis for doing so, I think it proper that all of this come out in the open.  Let the readers decide for themselves on the content of the posts and the ethos of the posters.  But let's dispel this fiction that the (mostly) leftist sort that post this sort of thing aren't "hateful".
