New York City (the largest city in the nation), Chicago (the industrial heartland of the nation), or Philadelphia (for purely historic reasons) are the only cities that I think are even remotely suitable replacements for Washington. I personally support moving the capital to Chicago.

     Given that most states have relatively small and unimportant capital cities, it would be odd for the country's capital to be one of the largest cities.
