No and its irrelevant. The last time the GOP won more than 15% of the black vote was 1960.

No. He's not the type who can expand the Republican support among blacks. I just can't see him presenting himself as 'different' than the GOP and actually caring about their interests.

I do think who the GOP nominates does make a difference in the support they get among blacks and someone who can come across a bit more amicably like Kasich would do much better.

Sure he can.

Blacks appreciate ability as well as whites.

And besides, Walker and the Republicans do not take the black vote for granted as do the Democrats.

No, I'm pretty sure Walker and the Republicans take the lack of black vote for granted.

Not unless there's a hand-out some where along the way.

Great outreach, bro.

Walker will probably get 4-5% percent of black votes after people hear that he received money from a white supremacist.

No, he'll get the usual 5-10% of black voters.

Can Scott Walker appeal to African American voters in the general like Christie or Paul or even Kasich could?

The answer to the question is yes.

He can appeal to them just as much as Christie, Paul, and Kasich, that is, not at all.

This is a troll question.

That's not entirely accurate. Nixon won 18% against McGovern in 1972, and Ford got 16% against Carter in 1976.

Considering that he won't even say whether or not he thinks South Carolina should take down the Confederate Flag, no.

I concur. Scott Walker won by exploiting contempt for minorities, especially the poor and black. If Democrats can keep together the "we are in it all together" message, then they can beat him nationally.

But -- his message well serves the Right -- anti-abortion (so that there can be a population explosion), anti-worker, anti-intellectual, and anti-environmentalist. People who want maximal profits irrespective of the human cost will love him. I have yet to see whether he is as much a warmonger as other Republicans... if he is, then that could help him in the primaries but lose in the general election.

He's Barry Goldwater without the virtues, Jesse Helms without the common touch.

He doesn't really need to. Much easier to win by increasing the  GOP share of white vote by 4-5%.  That demographic is a hard core Democrat constituency. Ann Coulter discusses this in her latest book.

So Republicans should stick to maximizing their share of the white vote, eh? Please, please do. I would love to see how well that works out for you in the future.

He could appeal to the tiny percentage of black voters who vote reliably Republican.

Scott Walker could end up sweeping the black vote , but only in the Primary. One Republican black supporter was backing Carson but died, and the other backs Walker. So he has 100 % support.
