Looks we are ending the night with over 3,100 posts. That's the most since the 2016 election, and basically the equivalent of over two high activity days in one.

March was 50,116 posts. That's the 2nd time since 2016 that we've gotten that many in a month. It's pretty rare in this forum's history for monthly post counts to go past 50k.

Looking at past midterms, it seems like the 2018 cycle is beginning to resemble another presidential cycle. Other past midterms never had super high activity, but I think Trump and his presidency is turning this cycle into "2016-lite," in terms of user activity.

No, actually, well, some. Dave had to temporarily disable the CAPTCHA system and revert to the rudimentary visual verification for new user registrations SMF uses, since his SMF installation was using a very old version of CAPTCHA that Google discontinued support for on April 1st. This means it is currently easier for spam bots to register, hence the increase.

Most of them get caught by other anti-spam features and thus never are able to login/post, but a couple have slipped through. First bots in many months I think - maybe even around 8 months.

Yes.  I'm resigned to the fact that I'll likely pass F for position #16 in early August, but not excited. At current positing rates, I'll pass Mr. Morden for #15 in early 2020, but that's far enuf away that I can hope to be spared that burden.

BRTD has picked up the pace recently, with almost 500 posts in the last month.  If he keeps going like this, then he'll make it to 100,000 in 2021.

Conceivably, he could make it to 100,000 before anyone else even makes it to 70,000.

It might also have set a record for infracted posts (and many that should have been infracted technically, were not for various reasons given the circumstances). The natives are restless, and moderating any gay related topic can be stressful these days (damned if you do, damned if you don't). Sometimes, I wish the Bible had never been published, but I digress.

The public square is so freaking toxic these days. Sad!

Looks like IceSpear has made about 1350 posts in the past month, meaning over 40 posts a day(!).  If he were to actually keep that pace up, then he'd be in the top 10 in about a year from now.  And then he'd be up to #3 all time (behind only BRTD and Al) another year after that.
