Hot and dry, although temperate and sunny is also fine, assuming it doesn't get too cold.

If we are using actual climates like GMB is doing here, my favorite ones are hot-summer Mediterranean (CSA) and hot Arid/Semi-Arid (BWh/BSh).

I guess I don't like the first and fourth options.  I'm not sure about the second and third.  I like tropical, wet climes quite a bit, but I also like a nice high-UV day once in a while to work on my sunburn, and of course I like the occasional frost to kill off mosquitos.  I guess if I were going to create a physics from scratch, I'd invent palm trees that could live in ice, and re-route the Henry's Law constants so that the water could still be crystal clear even though there's a cold season.  Caribbean blue sea, white beaches, and a backdrop of snow-capped mountains.  That sort of thing.

Option 2. Although my interpretation of "temperate" is more on the colder side. Basically a Dfb classification, which is where I live now.

That's not what I'd consider cold and freezing, but good choice.

Temperate and overcast/foggy all the time, and not likely to exceed 90F in the Summer.

Me neither.

Is there an association with left-wing economics and preferring crappy weather or something?  This forum seems to have some strange affinity for cold climates.

Meh, I could also live in Canada. Just not too far north Tongue Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver would all be cool.

Vancouver's not what I'd call "cold and freezing".

Voted cold and freezing of course! Just as long as it's only for a few months.

I was just speaking generally about which Canadian cities I'd want to live in.

3 or 4, voted 4 in this one. Hot and dry would be fine, Mediterranean would be ideal.

I live in a very humid continental zone, and while I don't mind the weather varying a little or cooling down, the changes are honestly far too drastic for my personal taste. I have like 3 wardrobes: One for cold as hell, one for cool and wet, and one for hot and very humid. I adjust to one and it changes! lol.

I voted hot and sunny, but my thoughts are somewhat more nuanced than that. Basically, my preferred climate is Mediterranean (both the Csa and Csb climate classifications). I like summers hot/warm and dry (not humid) where you can get the cool nights. As for winter, I prefer to avoid snow and temperatures below 40ºF.

Am I the only person who doesn't really like forests? People talk about how beautiful they are, but when I'm in a dense forest I kind of feel claustrophobic, I think it's becasue the trees kind of block the sun and my view of the distance. I also think that things like mesas and rocky hills look more interesting than most forest landscapes.
