Depression. I couldn't be angry at her for not running if she didn't want to, she's almost 70.

Acceptance. The Democrats would consider Warren, but I don't know if she will play well in the electoral-rich Midwest and Florida.

Extremely shocked, then depressed. Where's the "happiness" option? I'm pretty sure most of the forum would pick that. Tongue

This forum?! It's practically a Clinton 2016 social network.

I'll be happy, and I wouldn't be that surprised either.

Haha, I wish. But when you lose to Rand Paul in polls, there's no way that's true. Tongue

How so? Everyone who's paying attention knows she's essentially already in at this point.

Yeah, she's already been looking at office space for her headquarters.  At this point, she's running.

But, to answer the question, it depends on the circumstances.  I think the only valid reason she has not to run is health.  If she had a health reason, I'd just be sad.  If she suddenly decided she didn't want to run, I would be confused and angry.

Sleepiness (would've just woken up from a dream)
Smiley

EDIT:  Seriously, I'd be thrilled.  I'd vastly prefer a Webb/Biden presidency to a Hillary one.

The 2016 presidential race would go from toss-up/tilt D to safe R, so pretty depressed.

The Democrats only chance of winning if Hillary declines is : George Clooney. I'm serious here. Good looks, high name ID, fundraising, could be competitive in the GE.

LOLOLOL. He'd perform just like he did in my timeline (gets hardly anything in the early primary states, drops out before Super Tuesday).

Anyways, my reaction would be happiness. Especially because then the democrats could get a candidate like Brian Schweitzer or Andrew Cuomo. I'd be willing to switch my endorsement if either of them became viable (with Hillary, they're nothing more than anti-hillary sacrificial lambs, so I'm simply endorsing the best currently viable candidate atm, which is Kasich.)

Way too early to say it would be safe R, but the Republicans would definitely have an advantage, just as Hillary has an advantage now. Though it would be pretty hilarious to see all the Republicans go from "Early polls mean nothing!" to "The polls are clear: a Republican will be the next president!" overnight.

I don't actually think the Republicans would have an advantage in a Clinton-less field, as I don't think she's the reason why the Dems are slightly favored.  I think the Dems are slightly favored simply because the GOP brand is in more trouble than the Dem. brand right now.  And that would still be true if the Dem. nominee was Gillibrand or Klobuchar or Patrick or O'Malley or whoever.  I don't think Clinton running or not has much impact on the relative odds of each party winning.

Of course, the polls wouldn't reflect that right away, but general election polls taken this early have almost no predictive power.
