The worst thing is Bushie is basically now in a position of ultimate freedom, he neither has to work or look for a job for the next 11 days, and he's apparentely going to waste it all watching third tier sports and sitting on his ass poting on Atlas like he always does. Instead of both having fun doing enjoyable things (like Al and J-Mann proposed) and making it easier to walk and stand for hours on end once he actually has to.

Bushie how about next time you need to buy something you walk to a nearby store instead of driving?

All sorts of posters. Joe, oakvale, Polnut....

Yet let's note Bushie and his family's activities. Far better than playing a game that involves walking obviously.

I quipped to BK about how Bushie wouldn't be able to last ONE anomaly cluster much less four. Imagine walking for over four straight hours.

10/hr is plenty for a single man with cost of living in OK
Said no single man in Oklahoma ever. You may be able to make the case that it's managable. It certainly is not plenty.

Also consider how much debt Bushie has. Yeah it might be livable, but there's a fine line between that and "plenty". As noted above, Bushie could at least cut back on the cable package.

Yeah Bushie a strange breed. He acts like a child in some aspects of his life and a senior in others, but a 32 year old in none.

Acting 60 years old or 4 years old averages out to 32.

Well that's kind of a pointless number though. That's like averaging Mark Zuckerberg and Bushie's 2014 earnings and concluding both must be making enough to live an extremely lavish lifestyle.

I just wish he would eat like a 60 year old. A week of eating prunes could flush out ten or twenty pounds worth of years of undigested Braums bacon cheeseburgers.

Heh that's another thing, Bushie always picks the WORST things to be a senior or child in.

When you think about it, Inks was kind of Bushie's inverse, he was like a senior in ways where it's beneficial and responsible but still young in terms of his comfort with technology and modern day society. Now granted he was still the most insufferable killjoy imaginable but the guy who quit a job where he was literally getting paid to do no actual work because some people smoked pot there isn't much better.

There's something very Sioux Falls-esque about that pic. Sioux Falls is in many ways the most Midwestern city, it doesn't feel small, but it completely lacks any of the non-Midwestern cosmopolitan esque qualities you'd find in the Twin Cities, Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago or hell even Des Moines. Fargo is basically the same, except Sioux Falls is a little bit bigger.

Are Papa and Mama going to the grand opening?

No.  They don't want to make the drive all the way from Eastern Oklahoma County to Owasso.  That'd be a 2 hour drive and plus they don't like large crowds.

Let's be honest, Bushie.  They don't want to be surrounded by all these liberal health food fairies lest they might catch the gay.

There's plenty of religious conservatives that are health food nuts. Granted usually not in Oklahoma (I'm thinking more of like Colorado Springs or the socon areas of Orange County), but I'd imagine there's enough to keep stores like this in places like Oklahoma in business, and I'm sure most of Bushie's customers are more of these types than some organic food hippie liberal type.

Wait cashiers at Costco get $18/hour? Did they have any special duties or qualifications?

There is clearly something not right at Sprouts now. Bushie was raving before about how excited he was to start his new "career". He specifically said career, not job. While it's not unheard of for people to low level jobs as a stop gap between better ones (hell I did myself, I worked Target overnight stocking for a few weeks after graduating college), Bushie was clearly intent on staying here for at least a month. And yeah odds are they'll just term him once he puts in the notice at this rate.

As for the new job, while it's common for very big stores to have on site IT staff, these are usually things like large sporting equipment or furniture ones that also do lots of mail order. Pharmacies are never that large. Also I don't see a local pharmacy having an employee around just to help the pharmacists with tech issues, considering how simple the computer interface must be, any IT staff would be more for managing the network, which is something far more difficult and that Bushie has no qualifications for, nor any almost always required certifications. So my guess is this is another call center contracting for some company that makes software pharmacies use. Probably just as valid a job as his current one, but one that Bushie based on past experience will obviously not succeed at.

Friendly reminder that he just renewed the least on his apartment also. Papa will be paying the rent with or without the legit grocery job.

Oh yeah and the whole reason he renewed his lease was because he had this job now.

Ugh. This is f[inks]ing sickening.

So here's another possibility: The job is more or less what Bushie says it is, but requires some sort of specific qualification like that A+ Certification thing from a couple months back. So Bushie quits his job at Sprouts, and then spends almost $300 on a certification exam for whatever this job requires despite being nowhere near meeting the recommended qualifications to take the exam, and fails, thus leaving him almost $300 poorer and with no job now.

I think Bushie is using a rather broad definition of "IT". Back during the whole A+ Certification deal, he kept saying "I'm good at IT", despite the fact he has no experience with it at all. He's probably thinking anything involving computers is IT, and considers himself good at it because that job with Dell is the longest one he held without getting fired. But helping people get their computers started and back up their files is not what IT professionals do, and Bushie has no knowledge whatsoever about managing or setting up networks. Remember too that he got so execited since he was able to get a 40% or so on that A+ test.

So I'm going to go with my original prediction, this "IT" job is really a contracted call center for some company that makes software pharmacies use, and is the type of job Bushie has literally been fired from a double digit number of times.

There are mail carriers that are nearing retirement age that do the job fine. There are also people who work at grocery stores in that age range too. You are 32 years old. You are not "too old" to do a job that requires any physical activity. No, you are not in good shape, but leaving a job that requires a modicum of physical activity is not going to help it.

You said yourself that your friend went to work at a desk job at the post office and worked there most of the time. So it wasn't the physical activity that resulted in what happened to her, it was the fact she remained in bad shape. And you too are going to do the same unless you change, which you have not...ever. I don't think you've lasted two days on any diet. And now you finally got a job that involves standing and walking and leave, even after evidence it was helping you lose weight (though not as much as you thought of course.) So you are throwing away a job you are already well into because you panicked at a story your friend said. Surely even you can see how irrational this is.

What's the longest period of time Bushie has lasted at a call center?

I suppose Dell is it since he was there almost a year, but after that? Is it even three months?

This moment, this moment right here. April 3, 2015 is when you could have stayed and worked hard at Sprouts. This moment is when you could have started to get in better shape and made good money. This is the moment when you could have started to build up the savings for a move to Kenya or to marry Allison. This is when you gave that all up. Whenever you are unemployed again and not in Kenya and alone, look back at this moment as the moment you chose to give it all away.

Eh, I feel like this moment happened back in the seminal summer of 2010 when he left for on-company instead of making an effort to improve his work performance in a perpetually stable job.

Heh it's been almost five years now, and Bushie still hasn't gotten back on track since then. Losing your job always sucks, especially for such an idiotic and embarassing reason, but most people who do so are able to get stable employment within five years...or at least are able to land a job they leave on good terms.

Bushie after all the lying you at least owe us to answer this truthfully:

When you gave your two weeks notice, were you told to keep working the remaining two weeks, or were you just escorted out and terminated immediately?

The patterns now imply the latter but we haven't gotten a real answer yet.

Bushie, how about you just ask Sprouts if they'll take you back? Just tell them your other job looks like it'll fall through. It's not guaranteed they would, since this no doubt left a pretty bad impression, and you don't want to look too desperate so at least wait until tomorrow, but this Sprouts does seem to need help, and it would be easier and cheaper to get you back then hire and train someone brand new.

Also why the hell did you ignore everyone's advice and put in the two weeks notice anyway? What did you expect to gain by putting in the two weeks notice instead of just leaving when you planned on it? Did you seriously think quitting two days after training with a two weeks notice would allow you to get good references that just quitting two weeks later wouldn't? That wasn't just a dumb and bad decision, it was one done with no tangible gain whatsoever.
